Musk's net worth now stands at approximately $1.1 trillion, cementing his status as the richest person in human history.

According to World Bank data, only 19 countries have GDPs that surpass $1 trillion, ranging from the United States to the Netherlands. Musk's fortune alone competes with the economic output of nations such as Indonesia, Turkey, and the Netherlands.

His staggering wealth is greater than the combined GDP of Africa's two largest economies, South Africa and Egypt, which together have a GDP of $909.61 billion. This is nearly $200 billion less than Elon Musk's net worth.

The South Africa-born tech mogul owns stocks in SpaceX and the electric car maker, Tesla, with stakes in other ventures, including Neuralink and the Boring Company, a tunnel making firm.

He also owns the social media app, X, formerly Twitter.

Elon Musk, 54, first claimed the title of the world's richest person from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in January 2021.

According to New York Times estimates, Musk's net worth is approximately five million times larger than that of an average American family, which stood at just below $200,000 in 2022.

While his fortune soars, critics point to the vast disparity between the world's richest individuals and the poorest, with millions starving of hunger while a few people control the world's wealth.

A tiny coffin from 1875 still exists today, and inside it rests a bird no bigger than your hand.

His name was Little Joe.

Friends, before gas detectors and electronic sensors became standard underground, coal miners often relied on canaries to warn them of danger. These birds were far more sensitive to toxic gases, especially carbon monoxide. If the air became deadly, the canary would show signs of distress long before the miners realized anything was wrong.

That is why Little Joe was more than a pet.

According to the story passed down through generations, this small yellow bird alerted a crew of miners to danger deep underground. His warning gave the men enough time to escape. They returned home to their families because one tiny creature sensed what they could not.

But that is the part that changes how you see this story.

When we think about heroes, we usually picture someone strong, fearless, or larger than life. Little Joe was none of those things. He weighed only a few ounces and spent his days inside a small cage. Yet when a moment of real danger arrived, his life became the warning that saved others.

When Little Joe died on November 3, 1875, the miners did something remarkable. They built him a wooden coffin with a glass window and carefully inscribed his name on the front.

More than 150 years later, that tiny coffin remains a reminder that courage is not always measured by size, and sometimes the smallest life can leave the biggest legacy.

The circumstances of his death may not inspire much sympathy, but they raise a question that no one in the New Quarter of Monatélé seems willing to ignore: does anyone have the right to electrify a chicken coop as a trap?

Rodrigue Ngono lost his life on the night of May 27, 2026, after coming into contact with the protective fence of a chicken coop carrying an electric current. According to residents of the neighborhood, the young man was attempting to steal poultry when the shock struck him dead on the spot. He did not survive.

The competent authorities reportedly visited the scene to carry out the usual findings. The body was allegedly transferred to the morgue, and an investigation has reportedly been opened to determine the exact sequence of events.

If the attempted theft is confirmed, the question of the chicken coop owner’s responsibility remains unresolved. Under Cameroonian law, installing lethal electrical devices for private protection purposes can expose the owner to prosecution, regardless of the victim’s intentions.

This is not a statue. It is a photograph of Tian Ruliang, a grassroots official who stayed at his post as torrential rain and mudslides threatened his village.

Tian serves as the head of Shanghongyan Village in southwest China's Yunnan Province, a mountainous community where landslides are a constant danger during the rainy season.

When disaster struck at around 3 a.m. on May 18, Tian rushed door to door in the dark, warning residents to evacuate. While helping others escape, he was swept away by a violent mudslide. Tian managed to grab onto a tree trunk, climb back to safety and immediately return to rescue work without treating his injuries. Through the night, he organized evacuations, persuaded hesitant villagers to leave and helped elderly residents reach safety. Thanks to his efforts, all 60 villagers from 21 households were safely relocated before a massive landslide crashed down moments later.

Today, Tian is still helping with post-disaster recovery, clearing mud, checking roads and protecting the village he nearly gave his life to save.
