🟢 After months of dedicated work with their mentors, eight participants of the Q***r Art Academy showcased their works-in-progress last Thursday at Hartefakt House.

🎬Young, emerging artists from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia presented projects spanning film, photography, poetry, performance, archives, text and multimedia, and had the chance to connect with local, regional and international cultural practitioners, fellow artists and representatives of cultural institutions.

Very different in form and approach, the projects are still finding their final shape — informed by feedback from the audience and their mentors: Stevan Marić, film editor; Zorana Đaković Miniti, programme editor at the Belgrade Cultural Centre; Mojca Jug, programme editor at the Mladi Levi Festival in Ljubljana; Zvonimir Dobrović, founder of Q***r Zagreb Festival; and theatre director Patrik Lazić.

👀 We’re curious to see what Erik, Pavle, Natalija, Ilja, Nikola, Uroš, Muhamed and Arman have in store for us — how their deeply personal stories of q***r lives will shape their creations, and, ultimately, what these projects will look and feel like once they take their final form.

The project Q***r Art Academy – Building Safe Artistic Futures in the Western Balkans, implemented by Heartefact, is supported through the programme Working Safe: Socio-economic Inclusion of the LGBTQI+ Community in the Western Balkans and Türkiye, implemented by ERA – LGBTI Equal Rights Association for the Western Balkans and Türkiye, in partnership with Q***r Montenegro, Tuzla Open Center (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Open Mind Spectrum Albania, Center for Social Group Development (Kosovo), Coalition Margins (North Macedonia), Izađi (Serbia), and Kaos GL (Türkiye). This project is funded by the European Union.

U koprodukciji Beogradskog dramskog pozorišta i Hartefakta, u okviru projekta BDP-a „Novi glasovi“, tekst je sada dobio svoju scensku formu u režiji Maše Pavlović.
