Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had been “cowardly” to stay away from the funeral of Ratko Mladić, but claimed that “we all know very well that he is the organiser, implementer and personally the most responsible person”.

Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs Gordan Grlic Radman has slammed the commemorations of Ratko Mladic.

“Glorifying this war criminal is truly incompatible with European values,” Grlic Radman said.

A military funeral band played as the coffin carrying Mladic’s body was taken out of the funeral vehicle after arriving at the cemetery from the church.

A van carrying Ratko Mladic’s coffin has been passing along the road from the Church of Saint Luke the Apostle to Topcider Cemetery, where he will be buried. All the police officers along the route saluted the van as it went by.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces have lined up along the route that the procession carrying Mladic’s body will take from the church to Topcider Cemetery.

Several thousand people are already gathered at and around the cemetery, with many arriving from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Serbian Patriarch Porfirije has arrived at the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke in Belgrade’s Kosutnjak neighbourhood, where he is due to lead the funeral service for convicted Bosnian Serb Army commander Ratko Mladic at noon local time.
