Cyprus’ corporate income tax rate increased from 12.5% to 15% on 1 January 2026 but the Cyprus IP Box Regime remains highly competitive, with an effective tax rate as low as 3% on qualifying IP profits.

For IP holding companies, the real impact lies not in the headline rate increase, but in the nexus fraction: where the R&D takes place, how development contracts are structured and whether expenditure is properly tracked. These factors can make a far greater difference to the final tax bill than the half point increase itself.
