Will the UK’s Peak Tax Rates Be Simplified? - Blog ProACT Partnership Expatriate Advice 18/09/2026

🚨 Will the UK’s Peak Tax Rates Be Simplified, or Will "Tax Creep" Accelerate? 🚨

UK capital gains tax rates have already surged by up to 80% under the current government. Now, with a new regime sweeping through and the highly anticipated "Halloween Budget" looming in October 2026, taxpayers are wondering what’s next for their wealth.

Will the Chancellor simplify income and capital gains, or are we looking at increased tax creep across the board?

Key areas in the crosshairs include:
📉 Pensions & Inheritance Tax (Death)
🏡 Property Investments
💼 Business Exits
📈 Shares & Portfolios

Frozen thresholds and rising rates are quietly pulling more people into higher tax brackets. Don't wait until the Budget is announced to review your strategy.

How UK Expats Can Still Work in Cyprus: The 2026 Guide - Blog ProACT Partnership Expatriate Advice 11/09/2026

Dreaming of working under the Mediterranean sun? ☀️🇬🇧🇨🇾

Post-Brexit rules mean UK citizens are now third-country nationals, but living and working in Cyprus is still very much achievable in 2026!

The most popular and accessible route for remote workers and entrepreneurs is the Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa. Here is what you need to know:

✅ The Foreign Income Rule: You can work remotely for a UK employer, run your UK Limited Company, or freelance for international clients (just keep your clients outside of Cyprus).

✅ Income Benchmark: Prove a net monthly income of at least €3,500 (plus 20% for a spouse, 15% per child).

✅ Massive Tax Perks: If you stay 183+ days, you can unlock Non-Dom Tax Resident status—featuring 0% tax on dividends and a tax-free allowance on the first €22,000 of salary!

The quota for 2026 is open. Ready to make the move? Read our complete 2026 guide to find out how to get started 👇

Britain’s 3rd-highest taxpayer is reportedly leaving the UK for Greece.

Billionaire hedge fund manager Chris Rokos is preparing to relocate his residency to Greece, where he is also expected to establish an Athens office. Rokos reportedly paid around £330 million in UK tax last year, placing him third on The Sunday Times Tax List 2026.

Why Greece?

For qualifying new tax residents, Greece offers a regime under which foreign-source income can be covered by an annual €100,000 flat tax, potentially for up to 15 years, subject to conditions including qualifying investment in Greece.

Rokos is one of a growing number of internationally mobile high-net-worth individuals reassessing where they live, invest and establish tax residency following changes to the UK tax landscape.

The important point is that tax residency is increasingly something that can be planned — but it needs to be planned before the move takes place.

At ProACT Partnership, we help individuals understand the tax, residency and practical implications of relocating internationally.

The "Tax Independence" Loophole: How Moveable Assets Can Legally Wipe Out Your Tax Bill This October - Blog ProACT Partnership Expatriate Advice 01/09/2026

We often celebrate July 4th as the halfway mark of the standard calendar year. But for British expats and global investors, the real "Tax Independence Day" arrives at the beginning of October. This marks the exact midpoint of the unique UK tax year, opening up crucial windows for strategic cross-border tax savings.

By understanding how to balance the tax-free allowances of both your country of origin and your new country of residence, you can significantly optimise your financial position. However, maximising these savings requires masterfully timing your move, utilising split-year treatment, and properly categorising your assets.
