🏠 Eurostat data shows considerable differences across Europe in the age at which young people leave the parental home. In 2024, the EU average was 26.2 years.
The youngest people to leave home were in Finland, at an average age of 21.4, followed by Denmark at 21.7 and Sweden at 21.9. Estonia was next at 22.4, while the Netherlands recorded 23.2 and Lithuania 23.6. Germany stood at 23.9 and France at 23.5.
Czechia was below the EU average, with young people leaving home at 25.8. Austria was slightly younger at 25.3, while Belgium recorded 26.2, Ireland 26.8 and Luxembourg 26.9.
Further east and south, the average age was generally higher. Poland recorded 26.7, Hungary 27.1, Cyprus 27.2, Bulgaria 28.2, Romania 27.3 and Slovenia 28.9. Portugal and Malta both stood at 28.9 and 29.0 respectively.
Five EU countries recorded an average age of 30 or above. Italy stood at 30.1, Spain at 30.0, Greece at 30.7, Slovakia at 30.9 and Croatia at 31.3 — the highest figure in the EU.

🤦♂️ Another tourist attraction has appeared in Prague’s city center.
Following the effective ban on horse-drawn carriages, “horse-less” carriages are now operating in the center.
These electric vehicles are designed to mimic historic motor carriages, with rides costing thousands of crowns.

ℹ️ The new T Arena in Brno, a multifunctional sports and cultural centre, is nearing completion.
A large multimedia cube for video projections has been installed in the centre of the complex, while technical equipment and seats are being fitted ahead of the planned handover on October 25.
Construction costs are estimated at 5.5 billion crowns.
The arena will have 12,300 seats for sporting events and can accommodate up to 15,000 spectators for concerts.
