New Quarter for the Bata's Town of Zruč
🎉 Congratulations to the winners gogolák + grasse
The jury was won over by a clear, convincing vision for the site — one that beautifully connects the historic town centre, the Baťa-era neighbourhood, and the new development area through a thoughtful network of public spaces. Special praise went to the exceptional connection with the surrounding landscape and Zruč Manor, the site's remarkable permeability, and its well-considered pedestrian links.
The jury also loved the compact, human-scaled urban design, the sustainable and low-maintenance approach to public space, and the care taken to preserve the site's mature trees.
While a few details will be refined in the next stage, the jury agreed this proposal best captures the spirit of the competition — connecting the town with its landscape and offering a realistic, lasting vision for the future.

Home for Seniors – 21st Century
🏆 Congratulations to the winners, Lennox architekti & Rangherka 5, on their outstanding winning proposal for this inspiring architectural competition.
Jury Evaluation
Urban Design and Landscape
The winning proposal presents a strong and memorable urban composition that successfully adapts to both competition sites despite their differing topographies. The low, two-storey building, articulated through a system of atria and semi-atria, creates a welcoming environment with a clear human scale. The varied character of the atria provides excellent daylight and strengthens the relationship between interior and exterior spaces, while outdoor areas are conceived as an integral part of care, helping residents build a meaningful connection with their new home.
Architectural Design
The jury particularly appreciated the clarity of the organisational concept and its convincing response to the competition brief through the sequence of room – household – community. The building is organised into ten households grouped within three communities, creating an environment that balances privacy with shared living. Private balconies and planted terraces allow residents to enjoy daily contact with nature while ensuring comfort, safety, and appropriate supervision.
A clear network of interconnected spaces supports both residents and staff through efficient circulation and practical operational solutions, including gravity-based waste and laundry chutes. The modular system of prefabricated solid timber panels further enhances the project's flexibility and adaptability.
Technical Solution, Sustainability, and Economy
The two-storey concept requires some service functions to be located in a partial basement, helping preserve the quality of the outdoor environment and minimise service areas on the site. Overall, the jury recognised the efficient low-rise layout as a sustainable, economical, and environmentally responsible solution.

Art for the main railway station in Mladá Boleslav
Congratulations to the winner, Tomáš Džadoň for the proposal Točna.
After several months of work by the finalists and intensive discussions, the jury unanimously selected the winning proposal Točna. The project is based on a circular rotating platform with a diameter of 8.5 meters that moves slowly and irregularly. The movable surface integrates a bench, a lamp, and the visitors of the railway station themselves.
Rather than creating a traditional landmark or monument, the work subtly transforms the way people perceive and use the space. It draws inspiration both from the industrial environment that is inseparably linked to Mladá Boleslav and from railway history and former railway turntables.
Once again, thank you to all artists who submitted their portfolios, and congratulations to all awarded participants and to the winner.
