Content Security Policy allowlists go stale like anything else. New vulnerabilities and bypasses are discovered. Requirements change!

Ideally, everyone would use a strict policy, but in reality the majority of sites do not even implement a policy at all and when they do, they often weaken it with unsafe-inline, leaving them exposed to cross site scripting (XSS).

Any policy is better than none, but for non-specialists it can be hard to build a strong one from scratch.

Another SSL truth. SSL was formally deprecated back in 2015. The certificate itself supports either protocol — it just proves who you are — but the actual encryption on your site's connections today is in almost all cases done by TLS, not SSL.

How do you pass link equity from an old URL to the new one?

301 redirects.

How do you make sure the equity lands where it should?

Monitor the status code and redirect location.

If you only monitor the location, you won’t know if the equity is being passed correctly. Check only the code, and for all you know your users are being sent to the wrong place.
