🚀 Replacing enterprise monitoring with open-source flexibility.

At O2 Czech Republic, we helped replace IBM Netcool with Zabbix — starting with a PoC and growing into a complete migration to a robust, scalable monitoring platform.

Together with the O2 team, we built a solution focused on real operational needs: custom event handling, advanced filtering, role-based views, quick incident actions, integrations, and custom visualization.

The result?

✅ complete migration from an enterprise platform to Zabbix
✅ up to 100,000 events per second
✅ 3 years of trouble-free production operation
✅ significant savings thanks to a platform without license fees

This project shows how open-source monitoring can support even large-scale telecommunications environments — when it is designed, customized, and implemented the right way.

🚀 Zabbix 8.0 is coming soon — and CEP is one of the features we’re watching closely.

The new Complex Event Processing correlation engine brings a smarter way to work with incidents in Zabbix.

Instead of looking at every problem as a separate alert, CEP helps connect related events, work with time windows, group symptoms under a probable root cause, and enrich events with additional context.

Why is this important?

Because in real environments, one incident rarely creates just one alert.

It can trigger dozens — sometimes hundreds — of problems across hosts, services, and applications. CEP helps reduce that noise and gives operators a clearer view of what actually happened.

🚀 How we unified monitoring at Alza.cz a.s. using Zabbix

Since 2020, we have been helping Alza.cz a.s. consolidate its heterogeneous monitoring environment into one centralized solution built on Zabbix.

The goal was clear: speed up incident response, improve infrastructure visibility, and build a robust monitoring setup capable of handling an environment of this scale.

The result?

✅ replacing 3 monitoring systems with one centralized solution
✅ scaling monitoring from 3,500 to 25,000 values per second
✅ monitoring infrastructure, business processes, and warehouses
✅ monitoring AlzaBoxes, including theft attempts, hardware, cameras, and temperature
✅ a long-term partnership lasting 5 years

The project was not only about technical architecture, PoC, and implementation. Knowledge transfer also played a key role through workshops and certified training sessions.
