It was wonderful to hear Dr Motte play my remix of Imagine Love in his float set.

My special thanks to Indian DJ Rummy Sharma for asking me to appear as the Bootcamp Goa float’s surprise guest, at the Rave the Planet parade. It was so much fun! ☮️

Today 13 August 2026, marks the 65th anniversary of the building of the Berlin Wall.
It divided the city until 9 November 1989.

This is my band Shark Vegas performing on the infamous Glienicke Brücke (the bridge of spies) that separated West-Berlin from East Germany.

One half of the bridge belonged to the Soviet Zone, the other West-Berlin.

Mark Reeder on his anthem remix and why “IMAGINE LOVE” matters right now. ❤️

The MFS Berlin founder talks about Dr. Motte inviting him to remix this year’s Rave The Planet anthem, and why its message of peace, love, unity, and respect feels especially important right now.

Against the backdrop of war and the recent attack on Berlin’s CSD, he calls for unity, empathy, and a future shaped by connection rather than fear or hate.

Inspired by the track’s message, Mark wanted his remix to spark the imagination and bring together elements that don’t usually belong side by side, much like the world we share.

Imagine with us. What we imagine together can become reality.

Berlin is full of places that shaped techno culture & history – many of them long gone.

We spent a full day walking through the city with Mark Reeder, visiting legendary locations like the former Tresor Berlin and Tresor Garden on Leipziger Straße, as well as still-active cultural landmarks such as SO36 .

📺 Full interview: https://youtu.be/SwzO2myzEPo

Mark is more than a witness to Berlin’s underground history – he helped shape it. He is the founder of the first pure trance music record label, MFS Berlin Records, co-founded with DJ legend Paul Van Dyk, as well as a filmmaker and director of the cult documentary “B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin 1979–1989” (released in 2015 and celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025). Mark Reeder is also a key connector between punk, new wave, techno, and rave culture.

As a supporter of Rave The Planet from day one, Mark was also part of our Float Committee, helping select the participating floats for the Rave The Planet Parade.

In this interview, he shares personal stories, forgotten moments and raw memories from a Berlin that was loud, free and fearless.

Huge gratitude to everyone involved – and especially to Mark Reeder. ❤️🎶

Techno is culture. Techno is history. Techno is now.
