Red Mess

After two crazy weeks, we said ciao to our last tour of ‘26!!! We met so many amazing people, ate so much great food and, of course, played so many loud and lovely shows. Thank you so much to everyone who came to our gigs and enjoyed our music with us. Thank you I HATE THE BOUNCERS for being the best driver, personal trainer, language teacher and roadie we could ever get, you’re amazing fra, huge kisses to you.

As much as we still have shows this year, 2027 tours are already being planned. Love you all.

Little note by Doug: I started a kind of daily journal of the shows here, describing our experiences and highlights, but in the end our little camera ran out of battery and I got too lazy to keep posting while our day-to-day activities were a bit hectic - but lovely. As much as we need to keep our socials going, we believe mostly in the power of being really present.

Get off your couch, turn your cellphone off and go see a new band. It is good for the soul. Be there. You won’t regret it.

DAY 10, DAY 11: Weiler z. Stein (DE) and Konz (DE)

“Wow, wait a minute? What’s this car in front of us is trying to say?” “Follow me, please”. We stopped, got out of the car, three police officers asked for our documents. “Hallo? Deutsch oder Englisch? What are you? A band?” - proceeds to ask me to open the trunk. “Can you please step aside? Is there guns, narcotics?”. “No, officer” - he could barely imagine that the only thing he could have charged us for was a criminal increased dose of ragu in our blood + two huge pieces of lasagna in our bags waiting to be eaten. “Are you hungry, sir?”

All good. Back to the road. Georg received us in his dungeon with some pieces dating back from the 1500. We were there for the second time and since then it seems that his empire of bands have grown. Booked until 2028 he said. Sascha our Croatian friend came to our concert and gifted us with his presence and some croatian sweets and beer, what a nice guy.

We had a great time in Konz (DE), while there we saw some teenagers enjoying our show. With Metallica and other rock band t-shirts, we kinda imagined us when we formed the band, going to local concerts to see who’s playing and dream about someday being on the stage. Klepa got the chance to give a Red Mess t-shirt to one of them as the young man was wearing a Pantera t-shirt with a HUGE confederate flag in it. “Hey man, you liked the show? Cool. I will give you a t-shirt if you promise we can throw this one you’re wearing away”. It was a nice moment as the kid didn’t know what it meant and after some talking was humble to accept Klepa’s friendly gesture.

Now, on our way to Belgium we already stopped in Luxembourg. It seems it’s famous for its cheap ci******es, coffee and gas…but not for our standards, we guess. Too expensive. Klepa and I got two cold belgian beers for the way, Thiago and Peppe went to buy our lunch. Like almost every time, I’m writing this inside our rented van while Django Reinhardt is blasting through the speakers. Last time we had some Buena Vista Social Club.

We were missing Belgium so much. We heard the concert is free entry tonight.

DAY 8, DAY 9: DAY OFF + RADEBEUL

Only one day off leaves us with just one option: barbecue. We were on the road returning from Slovakia to Germany and Klepa wanted to accomplish his dream of finding a nearby lake and making bbq before reaching our next stop. As we were work-free we all agreed and stopped by Kaufland to buy disposable grills, beers and some meat. Afraid of being caught drinking in public in Prague, we found a hidden place in a park and grilled right there. We even made a doggy friend called Mimi, as you can see in one of the slides. For a moment we wish we had her freedom of just enjoying the muddy lake without caring too much to her cleanliness.

We got to Radebeul, at The Barnyard Live Club with their cool skatepark, full of rad kids showing their skills while ourselves - 3 beer driven bellies, slightly dehydrated - stayed there watching, imagining a somewhat Benjamin Button reality as all the kids were impressively good and fearless, like they had too much experience already. Our sound technician for the night had 15 years old, shoutout to him.

A new song was demo-recorded. When we saw the time it was already 2am.

Peppe woke up super early to make us Pasta Genovese (500g of onions each!!!!). What a cook. It was extremely good, but after eating the meat + melted onion-based ragu we thought Peppe had injected a mummification potion inside our food as we couldn’t move an inch. Unfortunately we could only fart badly when we started to recover from the feast.

Show at The Barnyard Live Club went well and we met nice people, gladly. As a surprise for us we even got to see our beloved friend Mat from Juke Cove and Stefan.

Peppe again woke up early and made some lasagna for our lunch on the road. Damn good. We packed and got ready for the next round.

DAY 4: BRATISLAVA

We had the delightful experience to visit Slovakia for the first time playing at . Warm hospitality, hope we get to comeback next year. Ďakujem pekne!!!

Highlight: The venue had its own brewery right beside the stage. Cold lager beer made by Joe’s Garage. Thiago said the beer master already met Frank Zappa and many other 70s rock musicians personally. Well…nice beer, nice people with stories to share, venue with great historical background. What else can you ask for?

NEXT STOP: Tomorrow in Radebeul (DE) at The Barnyard Live Club. Today’s our only day off. We’re about to enjoy that. If you are a Radebeul resident, let us know some places we could have some fun.

DAY 3: CHEMNITZ
