July means the racing season begins but let us give you an update about the past month first:
In mid-June we had some submissions, including the Vehicle Status Video (VSV), and shot an Instagram video with Audi. Our Driverless Department made great progress, and is preparing for the DV VSV.
In June, we also had various team building activities such as bowling and barbecues while watching the European Championship together.

Our March picture! 💙
Two weeks ago, we proudly qualified for nearly all events after January’s Rules Quizzes. With the university exams ending in February, our focus is now on manufacturing. On March 14th we’re hosting our „Schanzer Hautnah“ event at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt and our recruiting phase is starting soon!

Last but not least our second chassis chief - Sebastian Maibach.
Maibach has been an integral part of our Schanzer team since September 2022 and is a mechanical engineering student in the 5th semester. Last year, he significantly contributed to the department and was responsible for the manufacturing of the monocoque. Now as Chief, he designed the mono of the SRe24 and with his calm and patient character we are sure he and his team will achieve the best results possible just as Maibach wishes for! He also has a great sense of humor, which makes the hard work a lot more fun and overall just a great person to be around. His highlight so far was his first event at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. Outside Schanzer’s workshop, Maibach can be found playing volleyball.🏐
Lastly, he would like to give a quote which captures his philosphy of life perfectly: „Wenn du es eilig hast, musst du langsam gehen“ (engl. „If you you are in a hurry, walk slowly“). These words reflect his ability to keep a cool head and to move forward thoughtfully, even in turbulent Times!

Let’s turn the tide one last time, next we introduce you to our final mechanics - our chassis duo. The first one of the two is chassis chief & aerodynamics manager Tom Riechmann.
Tom has been a Schanzer member since October 2022 and is soon in the fourth semester of his automotive engineering studies. Before becoming Chief, he worked in manufacturing in Aerodynamics and Mono, where he gained valuable expertise in his field. As chief, Tom now leads the entire aerodynamics department, overseeing the entire process and designing some parts. His biggest wish for this season is that the team drives the car successfully on FSA. Tom is characterized by his ability to remain calm even in the most stressful situations. His impressive size of exactly two meters has earned him the affectionate nickname „Eastern Bloc Giant“ and makes him a standardized DIN length measure in the club - if something needs to be measured, Tom is the reference! Another interesting fact about Tom: None of his four cars have passed the TÜV yet. In addition to his passion for automotive engineering and aerodynamics, he is also dedicated to strength sports, particularly bodybuilding and powerlifting, as well as his laptop company.🏋🏻♂️
We´re near the end of our introduction series, so stay tuned for the final one on Friday!

And we come to the introduction of our vehicle dynamics chief – Phil Brodersen.
Phil has been at Schanzer since March 2023 and is studying industrial engineering in the 3rd semester. Before his role as Chief, he was actively involved in the suspension setup and helped a lot in the manufacturing and other areas. As chief of the VD department, his main task is comprehensive organization and contact with sponsors. A special experience for him was taking part at an FS event for his first time. At FSA and FSG he had so many new impressions and experiences and, among other things, met many new people! Despite the challenges that his new position brings with it, his hope for this season is that he masters his tasks confidently and has a lot of fun doing it. One of his good qualities is his positive attitude, which always drives him to get the best out of every situation! In addition to his involvement with Schanzer, Phil can often be found on adventurous road trips or on the tennis court. 🎾
Next week we will introduce you to the last two chiefs so stay tuned!

Starting with our various mechanic departments, the first one is our Powertrain Chief – Amaan Attar.
Amaan joined the Schanzer team in March 2023. His pursuit of excellence led him to study a master’s degree in International Automotive Engineering. Before taking over as chief, he developed and simulated our cooling concept. As Chief, he is now responsible for juggling documents, orders, concepts and designs, and distributing tasks to the appropriate people. For the current season, Amaan’s wish is to be successful at as many competitions as possible, and if there will ever be a potato sack race, he already looks forward to high-perform there. His best experience at Schanzer so far was when his IGBT concept achieved great success at FSG! One of Amaan´s standout features is his uncanny ability to spot the office pizza delivery guy from a mile away! In his free time, he likes to devote himself to motorsports or explore the world when he is not working in automotive technology. 🌎
Stay tuned for our next introduction from the mechanics area!

Here is a list of all events in which we participated in the rules quiz. We can proudly announce that we qualified for all of them, except FS Balkan and in FS East we only qualified for driverless.
We will first reveal to our sponsors the events we’ll be attending and shortly after, in March, we are going to share them here as well!
