At Brainlab, we digitize medical workflows from diagnosis to therapy, and our innovative ecosystem forms the basis for modern healthcare technology. We help healthcare providers build three-dimensional patient-specific models with data that is structured, mapped and aggregated with industry-leading artificial intelligence. This forms the basis of our navigation system for the human body, with whic
Did you know that lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide?¹ 🫁
This is especially troubling because many cases are preventable.¹ Lung cancer is also often detected at late stages, which makes treatment options more limited.
According to the LCFA (Lung Cancer Foundation of America), the survival rate for metastasized lung cancer is only 6 out of every 100 patients. 📊
That's why it's important to spread awareness, especially on . To reduce the impact of lung cancer, we need to:
🔍 Be aware of screening programs, with the goal of catching cancer at the local stage
🧬 Further improve the treatment spectrum of lung cancer

"No procedure is too routine that it can't be done a little better."
Professor Peter Vajkoczy, MD, Neurosurgeon and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin sat down recently with our own Nils Ehrke, President EMEA at Brainlab, and both agreed that excellence is not a goal, but an attitude.
That humble mindset also shapes how we think about technology in the operating room. The goal is not just to enable the spectacular one percent of cases but to improve every case, starting with every neurosurgical step, from imaging to planning to navigation and indeed, the whole workflow itself. Small changes may seem inconsequential alone, but together, they have the power to rewrite outcomes.
You can read their whole conversation at the link in the comments.
For those leading neurosurgical teams: where do you see the greatest untapped potential for marginal gains in procedures you consider fully optimized?

That's a wrap on in Vancouver! 🇨🇦
This year's American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) | Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP) Joint Annual Meeting & Exhibition was a fantastic three days of science, innovation and genuine connection—including a World Cup Watch Party that kicked things off in style ⚽
Thank you to everyone who stopped by Booth #1301 to explore our latest innovations in radiosurgery and radiotherapy. It was great to share live demos of ExacTrac Dynamic® and ExacTrac Dynamic Surface®, walk through the Breath Hold Workflow, explore Elements Radiosurgery Solutions and Brainlab Novalis Knowledge with so many of you.
A special thank you to Cornelis Kamerling, PhD, Director RT Planning R&D at Brainlab, for presenting "Benefits of Bypassing Traditional Optimizers in Automated SRS VMAT Planning" during the Therapy Partners in Solutions (PinS) program. 🌟
And a huge thank you to the entire Brainlab team whose passion and expertise made these three days such a success.

"For me, becoming a doctor was never a question. What took longer was finding my place. Being the first, again and again, was not easy. Now that I am here, enabling others is what matters most."
Prof. Stephanie E. Combs, MD, shared this at our recent Women Inspire event at Brainlab HQ in Munich and it resonated with everyone in the room.
As Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at TUM Klinikum Rechts der Isar and Dean of the TUM School of Medicine and Health at TU München, Dr. Combs has often been the first: first female vice-chair of the radiation oncology department in Heidelberg, first female dean of the TUM School of Medicine and Health, first woman on the Brainlab Administrative Board.
Yet her focus was not on titles.
It was and is on enabling others.
Her advice for building a career
🔸 Find a place where you feel welcome and can grow
🔸 Seek a mentor who pushes you when you need it
🔸 Follow what genuinely drives your curiosity
🔸 Take the lead on your own projects
🔸 Diversify what you do to open more doors
Why does this matter to us at Brainlab?
Because in medtech and clinical research, too many people, especially many women, still leave the field before reaching their full potential. Creating space for honest conversations about mentorship, resilience, balance and the freedom to change direction is how we keep that talent and help it grow.
Women Inspire is an employee-led Brainlab Impact Group advancing gender equity, because we see diversity as a strength worth building on.
For those working in medtech or clinical research, what brings the balance that keeps you strong through a demanding career?

Medical innovation is often measured by hardware installations or software rollouts. But the real transformation happens when a clinical team feels completely confident using those tools in the O.R.
That bridge between technology and daily ex*****on is why we built the Brainlab Online Campus. Serving as an on-demand supplement to hands-on training, the platform gives over 8,000 healthcare professionals a flexible space to refresh their skills and master their clinical routines.
Inside the campus, learning fits around your schedule:
🧠 Interactive practice: Strengthen product knowledge with over 400 courses and video tutorials built around real-world scenarios.
📲 On-the-go access: Download critical reference materials to keep handy on the job or pause and resume training on desktop and mobile.
🎯 ExacTrac Dynamic Surface® in action
ESTRO 2026 in Stockholm was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) community and to showcase what ExacTrac Dynamic Surface® can do in a live clinical workflow.
At the congress, our team showcased live demos of the breath hold workflow with our dedicated SGRT solution, ExacTrac Dynamic Surface®, giving visitors a closer look at how each step contributes to the overall efficiency of treatment. Watch the video to see it for yourself. 🎥
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked questions and connected with the team. It was great to see the technology resonate with so many visitors.

🏥 Real talk from real clinicians.
That's what 100 radiation therapy technologists brought to Paris last spring.
They came from centers across French-speaking Europe to visit Amethyst Radiothérapie France in Creil near Paris, share real-world experiences and exchange knowledge on how they use Brainlab solutions in their daily work.
At the heart of it all is community—connecting radiation therapy technologists online and offline to share expertise, learn from each other and push clinical practice forward together. It’s this kind of exchange that shouldn't stop when the event does. 🤝
That's what Novalis Circle is built for
🔸 Local events and workshops
🔸 Peer-to-peer groups and online masterclasses
🔸 Dedicated on-demand content and recordings
Whether you missed Paris or want to stay connected to your peers, this space was built for you.
