Yesterday, we escaped the city and headed into one of Ecuador’s most magical corners — Mindo Cloud Forest! 🌿🏔️
As the road winds down from the Andes, the landscape changes completely. Cooler air, misty mountains, lush vegetation and the sound of the forest welcome you into a world that feels a million miles away from Quito.
With Alejo leading the way, it was a day to slow down, explore and simply enjoy being surrounded by nature. 🌱
Mindo is one of those places where you never quite know what you’re going to discover around the next corner. A flash of colour in the trees, the sound of birds hidden in the canopy, butterflies drifting through the forest and the constant soundtrack of flowing water. 🐦🦋💦
And that's what we love about Mindo at CarpeDM — it's not just about ticking off attractions. It's about getting out into nature and letting Ecuador surprise you.
From the mountains to the cloud forest, yesterday was another reminder that some of the best adventures happen when you simply follow the road and see where it takes you. 🇪🇨💚

Some days are about getting somewhere.
Some days are about feeling the journey.
On September 15th, we headed into the high Andes for a CarpeDM day with one unforgettable destination: Cotopaxi National Park. 🌋
As Quito disappeared behind us, the landscape began to change. The roads climbed higher, the air became thinner and colder, and the endless green of the páramo opened up around us. 🌾🏔️
And then there it was… Cotopaxi.
One of Ecuador's most iconic volcanoes, rising dramatically above the Andean landscape. 🌋✨
With Alejo guiding the way, the day was about more than reaching altitude. It was about understanding this extraordinary environment, taking time to appreciate the landscape, and enjoying the experience at our own pace.
From the vast páramo to the slopes of the volcano and the unmistakable feeling of being high in the Andes, Cotopaxi delivers that rare kind of travel moment where you stop, look around, and think:

Exploring the Galápagos aboard La Pinta!
Our colleague Saraí recently had the chance to experience the 5-day La Pinta itinerary, discovering some of the incredible landscapes, wildlife and unique experiences that make the Galápagos so special.
From getting closer to nature to enjoying life on board, it was a great opportunity to see the islands from a different perspective — and bring back plenty of ideas and first-hand experiences to share with our travelers.

Today, we traded the usual itinerary for a little CarpeDM twist: centuries of history followed by a refreshing escape into Quito's green side! 🌱💚
The adventure began in the spectacular Quito Historic Center, where cobblestone streets, beautiful colonial architecture, grand churches, lively plazas, and centuries of stories brought Ecuador's capital to life. 🏛️✨
With Antonio leading the way, every corner became an opportunity to discover something new—from fascinating historical details to the traditions and stories that make Quito's Old Town so unique.
Then came the twist! 🌿 The journey continued to the Quito Botanical Garden, trading colonial streets for an explosion of Ecuadorian biodiversity. Colorful flowers, fascinating plants, towering trees, and peaceful green spaces offered a completely different perspective of the capital. 🌺🌴
And that's the magic of Quito: in just one day, you can walk through centuries of history and then surround yourself with the incredible nature of Ecuador. 🏛️➡️🌿
With Antonio's knowledge, warmth, and enthusiasm, this wasn't simply a sightseeing tour—it was a chance to experience the contrasts that make Quito so special.
