Project cars have a funny way of testing commitment.

It’s easy to stop after wheels and suspension. It’s a little harder when your idea of “doing it properly” includes a Rocket Bunny V2 widebody, a turbocharged 13B rotary, a full tube chassis and enough carbon fibre to make an F1 engineer feel right at home.

Most people would stop and think “is this enough?”
Emelie Broman didn’t just stop there. Turns out, when you know exactly what you’re building, there’s no point stopping halfway.

For 15! years this thing has been quietly avoiding cameras while receiving the kind of treatment that makes accountants cry and BMW enthusiasts weak at the knees. And this year Statement. is honoured to crack open the vault and shine some light on this master piece.

This GT86 clearly has commitment issues.
Couldn’t decide between a show car, a race car, or a complete masterpiece and a work of art... so it became all three.

This GT86 was supposed to be a Toyota. Hear us out...
Then someone decided that AMG seats belonged inside, Robot Craftsman should redesign the outside and titanium hardlines should replace perfectly functional ones.

Questionable decisions? Maybe.
Excellent ones? Heck yes. 👌

Now try to explain this when the officer stops you and asks what’s up with those Oz Futuras and rainbow chameleon tint 😜
