To achieve 94% boiler efficiency, one of the key factors is controlling the combustion process 🔥 One simple way to monitor how well the process is working is to look at the ash.

With high-quality wood pellets, we at Bio Mobitek typically see around 0.5% ash (by fuel mass).

Yesterday we reviewed data from our woodchips boiler in biogas plant in Halinga by Infortar, where the combustion process resulted in only ca. 3 litres of ash per MWh of heat produced. ♻️

Such a low amount of ash, together with fully burned-out ash, is a strong indicator of highly efficient combustion. It means very little energy leaves the boiler in the form of unburned fuel.

So here's a simple question:
👉 Have you ever measured how much ash your boiler actually produces per MWh?

And don't just measure the quantity. Look at the ash itself:
✔️ Is it completely burned out?
✔️ What does the particle size look like?

Ash tells a surprisingly detailed story about what's happening inside the burner.

Bio Mobitek and Nefab have reached an important milestone: engineering is complete and production has officially started for a 750 kW Waste-to-Energy ♻️🔥boiler that will convert factory production residues into renewable heat.

NEFAB chose a solution engineered for reliability, high efficiency and low operating costs:
✔️ Two-stage combustion with 3 primary air zones, 2 secondary air zones and flue gas recirculation for precise combustion control
✔️ Mechanical automatic heat exchanger cleaning – no manual heat exchanger cleaning required throughout the year
✔️ Fully water-cooled boiler and grate for maximum durability and long service life
✔️ Over 90% boiler efficiency

It is strangely hypnotic to watch the full cycle of a Bio Mobitek plant - starting with a perfect burn, moving through the heart of the boiler house, and finishing with the silo being topped up. Functional engineering that looks as good as it works.
