We aim to work closely with parents to teach our learners adaptive skills, such as conversation, play, socialization skills, and more adaptive behaviors . We also work on other skills such as toilet training, food refusal, and readiness to school (Kindergarten, and Preschool). Research shows that parents play a huge role in the progress of their children, so we provide them with training sessions to teach them how to handle problem behavior and language enhancing practices to do at home and in the community.
At Simplify, our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practice goes beyond teaching communication and social skills and reducing challenging behaviors. We also focus on helping our learners develop flexibility, tolerate changes, and become more comfortable with new experiences in their daily lives.
One of our learner’s goals was to increase her flexibility with different hairstyles, as she had consistently preferred and accepted only one specific style.
Through gradual intervention, positive reinforcement, and most importantly, the strong and trusting relationship we have built with her over the years, she is now happily accepting a variety of hairstyles—and feeling proud of herself along the way! 💛
Small changes like these can represent meaningful steps toward greater flexibility and independence.

Today at Simplify, Mariam and the team made Thursday extra fun with a creative action-based activity! 💙
Our learners watched actions on the screen, observed them being modeled, then labeled and imitated each one. Through play and movement, we targeted attention, following instructions, gross and fine motor skills, language, imitation, and many other developmental skills.
We love creating meaningful, engaging activities because learning is most powerful when children are having fun and engaged.
