We’re looking for a Utility Asset Valuation Expert to join us as part of a short-term project with an international government organisation.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline, with 8+ years of experience in utility asset valuation, financial modelling, or infrastructure investment analysis, particularly within the energy sector.

The role requires the following qualifications and experience:

- 8+ years of hands-on experience valuing public and private utility assets, including power generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure.

- Proven application of internationally recognised valuation methodologies across at least 3 valuation assignments, using cost-, income-, and market-based approaches.

- 5+ years of experience advising energy regulators, utilities, or government entities on asset valuation, tariff setting, or financial performance.

- Experience in at least 2 projects involving the privatisation or commercial restructuring of state-owned utilities.

- 3+ years of experience assessing or valuing renewable energy assets, including solar PV, wind, and hybrid systems.

- Experience with utility valuation in developing or transitioning economies, particularly donor-funded projects.

- 5+ years of experience developing financial models using DCF, NPV/IRR, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis, using tools such as MS Excel, Python, or R.

- Experience developing asset valuation manuals or guidance documents, with at least 2 delivered to public or private sector stakeholders.

- Proven ability to design and deliver technical training, with at least 3 workshops or capacity-building sessions for regulators, utilities, or ministries.

- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and technical concepts to non-specialist audiences. Fluent English required; Arabic is a plus.

Experience with donor-funded projects supported by organisations such as the World Bank, EU, USAID, or AfDB is highly valued.
