New post on the blog!
A great Product Manager doesn't need to touch the codebase to drive massive value. The real work is keeping teams unblocked, clients aligned, and decisions sharp.
Our cherished Mateja Jermanis shares how she sets up her daily routine to do exactly that. She outlines the strengths of leading projects with a clear strategic focus, and how she uses AI to handle the mechanical heavy lifting, converting third-party technical documentation like RevenueCat into business logic and wiping out repetitive admin tasks.
No better way to kick off a Wednesday than with a fresh perspective on modern product leadership: https://marsbased.com/blog/2026/08/05/what-using-ai-looks-like-when-you-re-a-pm-without-a-technical-background
94% of companies see zero ROI from AI. They buy licenses, burn through tokens, and mistake faster individual coding for real business value.
In the newest episode of the MarsBased podcast, Àlex Rodríguez Bacardit and Sven Peters (AI Evangelist at Atlassian) take on the corporate AI playbook, explaining why most engineering teams are falling short. Speeding up coding is meaningless if workflows and PR reviews stay the same.
With everyone using the same LLMs, your real edge lies in your internal context, documentation, and codebase history. And tracking token spend? That’s just measuring wasted budget, not actual impact.
So, how much of your AI budget is really driving results?

Recently, our website has been receiving a new kind of visitor. They are AI agents, like Perplexity, Claude, or coding assistants, trying to parse pages built for humans, buried under nav bars, cookie banners, and heavy scripts.
The llms.txt standard emerged to address this with a single Markdown file placed at the server root, organizing key site content specifically for language models.
After implementing it on our website, our CEO, Àlex Rodríguez Bacardit, dug into the actual adoption data to see if it lives up to expectations. The picture is quite telling: much of the recent surge in adoption stems from automated rollouts on platforms like Shopify, while Google has confirmed it doesn't use it for search rankings, and the vast majority of published files barely receive any bot requests.
That said, we’ve found that it genuinely helps in specific scenarios, especially when developers point tools like Cursor directly at a project's documentation.
In his new article on our blog, Àlex shares the full breakdown of what we learned during implementation, the maintenance challenge of keeping the file in sync, and our verdict on when it makes sense to add it to a project and when you can safely skip it.

Our July newsletter is officially out!
This month, we’re skipping the generic tech headlines to share what our engineering team has actually been testing, breaking, and learning in production.
Inside this edition, we dive into our hands-on testing of Claude Fable 5 and the debate surrounding AI model neutrality. We also break down why over-instructing LLMs with rigid "Skills" might actually be degrading your code quality, how Bun pulled off rewriting their core engine from Zig to Rust, and a few practical Claude Code productivity hacks our team uses to manage token limits and permission prompts.
To top it off, our CEO Àlex Rodríguez Bacardit sits down with Brais Moure (MoureDev) in a special podcast episode discussing software engineering, content creation, and how to stay relevant in the age of AI.
If you want real-world engineering takeaways, honest AI breakdowns, and practical tips delivered straight to your inbox every month, make sure to subscribe.

"They were verbally abusive to my team. So I said: 'We're done.'"
Walking away from a huge check isn't easy. But when Adarsh Pandit (founder of Cylinder Digital, ex-Thoughtbot, ex-McKinsey) faced a toxic client, protecting his engineers was non-negotiable.
Replacing an employee can cost up to three times their annual salary. Losing your team's trust costs far more. In our latest podcast episode, Àlex Rodríguez Bacardit and Adarsh Pandit catch up on 12 years of running software agencies. They cover the panic of accidentally dropping a production database on Heroku, how AI and vibe coding are shifting MVPs and agency pricing, and why systems thinking applies just as much to sales as it does to code.
