IFBB Continues Its Strong Progress Across Central America and the Caribbean

On the occasion of the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja held a productive working meeting with Eduardo Abdalah, President of the Pan-American Confederation and Executive Board Member of the Nicaraguan Olympic Committee, together with Tony Peña, President of the Central American and Caribbean Federation.

The meeting focused on the continued development of bodybuilding and fitness throughout the region, as well as the organization of the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Championships, to be held in Guatemala. This prestigious event, one of the longest-standing and most traditional competitions on the official IFBB calendar, is expected to attract an outstanding level of participation and will once again bring together athletes and National Federations from across the region.

Dr. Santonja praised the outstanding work carried out over many years by Eduardo Abdalah and Tony Peña, recognizing their extensive experience, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the growth and institutional strengthening of the IFBB throughout the Americas.

The meeting also served to advance the organization of the IFBB Pan-American Championships, whose staging in Guatemala has also been confirmed. As the premier gathering of all IFBB National Federations across the Americas and one of the flagship events on the continental calendar, the Pan-American Championships, together with the Central American and Caribbean Championships, will further establish Guatemala as the host of two of the most important bodybuilding and fitness events in the Americas this year.

The IFBB remains fully committed to working closely with its continental and regional organizations to promote the continued development of the sport, strengthen its institutional structures, and create new opportunities for athletes throughout the Americas.
