The embroidery is drawn from Van Gogh’s Bank of the Oise at Auvers — one of his final paintings, completed in the last weeks of his life. Every element of the canvas is rendered in silk thread and felt appliqué: the dappled riverbank trees, the orange and green boats, the figures on the water — translated stitch by stitch onto a steel-blue cotton ground. 300 hours of hand embroidery per piece, limited edition of 77, made entirely in Portugal.⁠
