Not every photograph needs a wide scene to tell a story.

What caught my attention here was the contrast between the rough industrial texture of the barrel and the precision of the typography emerging from the darkness. The limited light helped simplify the frame, turning shape, contrast, and material into the main subjects of the image.

For this edit, I leaned into deep blacks and controlled highlights to preserve the moody atmosphere while keeping the metallic surface readable and tactile.

Sometimes a single detail says more than the entire place.

Same frame, two different moods.

What drew me to this façade was the contrast between the dark exterior and the warm orange lights tracing each window. The repetition creates a strong visual rhythm, almost like a grid, while the balconies and low-angle perspective keep the composition from feeling too static.

For this carousel, I wanted to explore how color grading changes the way we read the same architectural subject. One version feels more muted and graphic, with the lights becoming the dominant visual element. The other leans into the blue hour atmosphere, creating a stronger contrast between the cool sky and the warmth of the façade.

Which edit works better for you — the moodier version or the blue hour version?

Aveiro is often described through its canals, but what interested me most here was the way tradition becomes part of the visual structure of the city.

The painted bow of this moliceiro immediately caught my attention: its curve, its ornamental details, and the contrast between the saturated colors of the boat and the softer architecture in the background. I wanted the frame to feel close and tactile, allowing the viewer to read the craftsmanship first before moving into the wider atmosphere of the canal.

For this shot, I focused on isolating the subject through depth of field while keeping enough environmental context to preserve the sense of place. In post-processing, I worked mainly on contrast and color balance, trying to keep the image vivid without losing its natural character.

What draws your eye first — the painted details, the curve of the boat, or the reflections on the water?

Sometimes the most compelling light isn't found by looking at the sun, but by observing where its final rays fall. Standing at the edge of the cliff, I deliberately turned my back to the sunset. The result is a striking interplay between the cool blue sky and the deep, warm reds reflecting off the monumental rock outcropping.

For this shot, I relied on my Canon EOS 250D. In post-processing, I focused on selective contrast to bring out the raw texture and sheer volume of the cliff face, applying a subtle natural vignette to ground the composition and draw the eye directly into the scale of the landscape.
