Ekseption nació en Torremolinos en 1971, de la unión y de la visión vanguardista de Genevieve y Bernhart Beteinber. En 1979 abren en Marbella y en 1987 inauguran en Madrid un espacio de 1500 m2, convirtiéndose así en la primera tienda multimarca de España con notoriedad internacional. Celine Beteinber, hija de los fundadores, se une a la aventura en 1995 para tomar las riendas del espacio madrileñ
