Dear BAPUR colleagues, Carlos Arce, Alberto Coz and Tamara Llano Astuy have published a novel biomass treatment of coffee residues using deep eutectic solvents. You can see all details of our research here:
Deep Eutectic Solvent Pretreatment for Cellulose Enrichment from Coffee Waste The treatment of coffee silverskin (CSS), a waste stream from the coffee industry, through deep eutectic solvents (DES) was studied. Choline chloride-based DES mixtures were checked by using a lactic acid (LA) hydrogen bond donor. The effect of time, temperature and biomass:DES ratio on the dissolut...

Participation in the PhD Multidisciplinary Chemical Congress. Tamara Llano Astuy and Paula González González attended the MutiChem Congress with the poster entitled "Turning brewery waste into value: efficient caffeine removal from wastewater using spent grains". In addition, Florencia Sofía Gómez Sánchez attended the BioTechPro Congress, presenting the oral communication entitled “Influence of lignocellulosic biomass processing and fractionation on the development of adsorbent materials for emerging water contaminants,” among other BAPUR contributions that you can check on the BAPUR project website: https://bapur-project.unican.es/240-2/
