Cattleya bicolor 'coerulea' one of those that dont miss the party of flowering every year, and one more time confirms my taste toward green flowers !!

Ficus deltoidea
This reel features two Ficus deltoidea, showing just how variable this species can be from one specimen to another. The first is subsp. deltoidea, the more classic form. The second is a variegated form known in cultivation as "Watermelon," named for the mottled green variegation pattern reminiscent of watermelon rind — its exact subspecies classification, if applicable, is unclear.
Ficus deltoidea has become one of my favorite species to work with lately, precisely because of how differently individual plants can present. Both specimens are thriving alongside orchids in the greenhouse, sharing similar humidity and light requirements.

Laelia bradei
This orchid is native to Minas Gerais, Brazil, and is currently classified under the genus Laelia, having previously been placed in the genus Hoffmanseggella.
It is a lithophytic, or rupicolous, species, meaning it grows naturally on rock substrates rather than on trees as many epiphytic orchids do. This adaptation reflects a tolerance for more mineral-based growing media and more direct light exposure compared to typical epiphytic Laelia relatives.
This atypical habitat for orchids hosts a remarkable diversity of species within the genera Laelia and Acianthera, among others, many of which have evolved similar adaptations to rock-dwelling life. The evolutionary path that led these species toward a lithophytic habit is a fascinating example of adaptation within Orchidaceae.

Monstera Acuminata — The True Species
For years, much of what has been sold as "Monstera acuminata" in the plant trade has actually been a mislabeled Monstera adansonii. Two distinct species that have repeatedly been confused across the industry.
The true Monstera acuminata is native to Mexico and stands out for its vigorous growth: a strong, fast-developing species with fenestrated leaves of a distinct texture and shape.

Euchile mariae — one of my favorite species in the genus Euchile, which, if I remember correctly, only contains two other species, including the famous Euchile citrina.

I can’t wait for my citrina to bloom one day, as its fragrance is said to be incredible. But mariae certainly doesn’t stay behind. It has a wonderfully pleasant perfume, and there is something really special about these elegant green flowers. They may not be the flashiest, but they have a charm that is hard to describe.

Another thing I love about Euchile is how well adapted they are to periods of dryness. They come from seasonally dry forests in Mexico rather than constantly wet cloud forests, making them much tougher than many people.

Acianthera teres — a fascinating miniature orchid from Brazil, found mainly in the Minas Gerais region, home to the famous campos rupestres. These ancient rocky landscapes harbor an incredible diversity of rupicolous orchids and other highly specialized plants.

One of the most interesting adaptations of A. teres is its thick, succulent-like leaves. Growing in dense clumps and staying close to the rock surface helps reduce water loss and cope with the harsh conditions of its habitat, where intense sun, wind, and periods of drought are common.

It’s amazing how such a small orchid has evolved so many strategies to survive in such an unforgiving environment.
