Infinite Hope

It’s been said that an appreciation of the arts is what lifts us beyond mere animals and I find poetry to be the highest art form since it has the power to gracefully stirr our imagination as it becomes part of history.
raindrops on the ocean
wild to the touch
craving rays of sunlight
biting down the shore
Hunting my dreams, a whirlpool of lust. I picked up a pen to write lines uncrossed. My skin, burning; my breath, fast; as though burning ember would turn ink to ash.

Half asleep, dressed in grey on a matching rainy morning, just out of your everyday coffee shop, juggling with all the carry-out coffees for work and an umbrella (colour irrelevant).
Emerging through the protecting halo of the umbrella, getting past the air between my eyes and the puddles on the grey pavement, a stranger’s hand.
“It’s already up,” My eyes opened to the sound of an unfamiliar voice amidst the city’s morning routine.
‘Why is the hand still there? … Oh…’
That internal ‘Oh…’
is the sound
of internal walls

la terre, trempée
la route, boueuse
