GIMAC Network
Since 2002, GIMAC Network has contributed to the AU Theme of the year by issuing civil society statement to the AU Summit.
GIMAC Network is a Network of African womenโs and civil society organisations working toward empowerment of women and girls in Africa particularly through the implementation of key major regional and international gender equality instruments. Most of GIMAC recommendations have been adopted in the final Head of States Declarations and recommendations regarding gender in Africa.

As Climate Change Lead at the IGAD Youth Envoy Office, Ms. Denise Ayebare brings a critical youth perspective to the conversation on gender-responsive WASH and climate resilience.
Her intervention will highlight the importance of ensuring that young people especially young women are actively involved in shaping water governance solutions that are inclusive, sustainable, and responsive to the realities of a changing climate.

How can Regional Economic Communities foster more inclusive and gender-responsive water governance in Africa?
Join us to listen to Morris Tayebwa, Project Officer at the East African Community (EAC), as he shares the East African perspective on REC Leadership in Gender-Responsive WASH.
He will draw on regional experiences to contribute to the dialogue on how RECs can strengthen water cooperation while ensuring that women, youth and marginalized communities are not only beneficiaries of WASH policies, but active participants in shaping them.
Because regional water cooperation is best when all voices are heard.
