We visited the wonderful Gumbostrand Konst & Form in Sipoo — a hidden gem that not everyone knows about, yet a place well loved by both Finnish- and Swedish-speaking art lovers.
We explored the space, met the manager, and spent a beautiful time surrounded by authentic Finnish art, where sunlight, colour, and the exhibits seemed to become part of the same composition.
A place definitely worth discovering.

✨ КОГДА ИСКУССТВО ОБРЕТАЕТ ГОЛОС.
14 августа в 17:00 AWAKENING можно будет не только увидеть — его можно будет услышать.
Мы рады представить Екатерину Шарапову (Jekaterina Sharapova), сопрано литовского происхождения, которая выступит со специальной музыкальной программой в пространстве AWAKENING в рамках Art Wings Riga Trade Fair 2026.
🎶 Екатерина исполнит несколько избранных произведений, привнося силу живого человеческого голоса в выставочное пространство — туда, где встречаются опера, современное искусство и сама идея пробуждения.
Её творческий путь проходит через Санкт-Петербург, Ригу, Флоренцию, Вильнюс и Порту.
Она училась в Консерватории имени Н. А. Римского-Корсакова в Санкт-Петербурге, получила степень бакалавра по специальности «Оперное пение» в Латвийской академии музыки имени Язепа Витола в Риге, продолжила обучение в Консерватории Луиджи Керубини во Флоренции, получила степень магистра в Литовской академии музыки и театра в Вильнюсе, а затем совершенствовала своё мастерство в рамках последипломной художественной практики в ESMAE в Порту.
Её сценический опыт включает участие в постановках «Кармен», «Сестра Анджелика», «Война и мир», «Турандот», «Мадам Баттерфляй», «Богема» и «Роза Турайды». С 2016 по 2018 год Екатерина была первым сопрано хора Латвийской национальной оперы.
Она выступала в Литве, Латвии, России, Италии и Португалии, а также принимала участие в фестивале Póvoa de Varzim в Португалии в 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 и 2026 годах.
А теперь — Рига. AWAKENING.

From forgotten fragments to works of light.
Meet Resurrect Studio (Nancy Wu & Jean Davis, New York, USA) — an award-winning artist duo transforming century-old glass recovered from New York City’s historic landfill shoreline into extraordinary sculptural artworks.
Each fragment carries its own history. Through light, transparency, and layered composition, these once-discarded materials become luminous objects that speak of transformation, memory, resilience, and hope.
Their works have been exhibited internationally, including The Venice Glass Week (Venice Biennale), the Brooklyn Museum, and the Corning Museum of Glass, redefining how we see beauty in the everyday.
At AWAKENING, Resurrect Studio reminds us that nothing is truly lost. Even what has been forgotten can find new meaning.

Today we explored oppression through theatre, movement and powerful frozen group images. Each pose became a story about pressure, inequality, silence and the courage to resist.
A huge thank you to our theatre teacher Luís for guiding this meaningful workshop and helping us express complex ideas without words. 🎭

Just when you think the day is over, the best part begins. Someone is giving their performance one last rehearsal, someone starts an impromptu football match, others are having deep conversations under the stars, someone is secretly preparing a late-night snack, and the most curious participants somehow know what’s happening in every corner of the camp.
These are the moments when real friendships are built, funny stories are created, and memories are made that will be remembered for years.
Yes, the mission “Everyone in bed on time” has failed once again.
But the mission “Create a summer no one will ever forget” is succeeding 100%. ❤️
