2 billion elevator journeys. 18 cities across Europe.
Our elevator data reveals just how differently cities live, work, and move.
In one city, the day is already in full swing before 8 AM. In another, things don't really get moving until much later.

How tall can a building rise before the elevator becomes a limiting factor? 🤔
That's one of the challenges our new KONE High-Rise Solutions are designed to solve.
By combining our UltraRope® hoisting technology with breakthrough solutions such as AI-enabled controls, double-deck elevators with fewer shafts, and wireless power and data transfer, we're helping make the next generation of super-tall buildings possible.
These innovations enable buildings to reach beyond the 1-kilometer mark.
In today’s world, cities continue to grow upwards – all thanks to pioneering solutions in vertical mobility.

A flying escalator? Yep, you read that right. 👀
Our team pulled off one of our most challenging escalator installations yet in the Egypt high-speed rail project.
With a complex station geometry, a standard crane setup wasn't feasible. So, the team brought in a 500-ton mobile crane with a luffing jib to safely lift the escalator into place.
Turns out, getting this escalator into place was quite an uplifting experience. 😎

What if your everyday elevator was out of service for weeks?
It would be majorly inconvenient for everyone, especially for the elderly, parents with strollers, as well as wheelchair users.
This is why a faster approach to modernization matters. By reducing downtime, extending equipment life, and improving performance, elevator modernization keeps buildings and cities moving.
"If we can reduce elevator downtime to as little as one week – or even less – we fundamentally change the experience for the customer and end user," says Viehweg, senior vice president modernization at KONE.
Find out how a faster modernization can extend equipment life, improve building performance, and minimize disruption for the people who rely on their elevator for urban flow.

Be honest: when was the last time you gave a second thought to the elevator in your life?
Exactly. Most of us rarely do – until the elevator you use daily is out of service.
That’s when life and routines become harder.
We want to minimize elevator modernization downtime. Instead of weeks or months of inconvenience, we can upgrade the essentials in just one week.
And when you think about it, that’s life upgraded in ONE week!
Every customer matters. 💙
“Whether it’s a skyscraper or a residential tower, every customer is a VIP, and every job deserves loving care,” says Arnel Villanueva, Service Supervisor at KONE.
