White Box

Vernissage I White Box, 31.3 klockan 16:00.

Hon arbetar
främst med textil och återbruksmaterial.

Exhibition opening at White Box, 31.3 at 16:00.

Welcome to Sara Sundkvist's exhibition where she gives life to the old. Here she explored
the most overlooked material we have close to us: The Thread.

Sara Sundkvist is an outside artist who has previously studied at Novia. She works mainly
with textiles and recycled material.

MEN HUR?

Welcome to the exhibition opening of "But How" by Elisa Jüllig, in Bright Box Wednesday 25.3, at 16:00.

BUT HOW?

In this exhibition I am showing paintings and sculptures that I have created over the past few
years.

The imaginary landscapes and scenes, ranging in the intermediate terrain between the abstract
and the figurative, are inspired by reflections on the space between two points: Getting from
one to the other may seem obvious, but as one approaches, unexpected spaces open up that
are difficult to fathom or navigate through.

We had so much fun at Whitebox’s recruiting event 😁 So many cool sculptures… 😍😍

We welcome everyone to the vernissage of the third-year Photography students’ exhibition tomorrow!!! 📸

TOMORROW!!! 👆🏻

In the double exhibition Enjoying Colours 2026 and FörSVANdligen you’ll find a duel between the abstract and figurative, but also a red thread of colourful palettes and a need to explore.

Toni Lehtonen’s exhibition Enjoying colours 2026 in gallery White Box explores the artists progress from black and white drawing to their colourful oil paintings, while Wilmer Nordberg’s exhibition FörSVANdligen is their alchemical formula to become a swan and is shown in Bright Box.

Welcome to White Box and Bright Box!

Some moments from Wednesday’s vernissage…

We invite everyone to the opening the 3.12 at 16.00 of Death Beneath the Waves in campus Allegro!

Death Beneath the Waves is Wilma Kuusimurto's first White Box exhibtion and she does NOT hold back. This exhibition is a call for help from the ocean and it's inhabitants. The attention is drawn to the suffering of animals but with a twist: a very humanesque twist.

We invite everyone to join us at the opening of the exhibition MUUTOS / Change this Wednesday at 17.00!

Eight students from Kankaanpää Art School visit Novia’s White Box gallery to make contact with new audiences. They have prepared an ensemble that connects over themes of ongoing change in times, nature and the self while letting each artist’s individual voice make a twist on it.

The exhibition is a part of an ongoing exchange exhibition program between fineartsstudents of Novia, SAMK & Turku AMK fine arts.

The opening will take place before RUSKs opening concert and we will be serving alcohol free drinks and something small to eat.

________

During the autumn, the Fine Arts department has restarted a residency exchange with Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus in Schwandorf, Germany. The exchange means that one artist travels in each direction and works at the respective residency for about one month.

In November, we have the artist Kira Krüger with us in campus Allegro and currently you can meet her and her work in the Bright Box space, next to White Box. Kira is only working there for a few days, so make sure to visit her before Tuesday, 18.11.

Kira would especially like to invite you to the Bright Box-space on Monday 17.11 at 12.45. The artist herself will then be present and perform a short reading.

Kira and her presence is absolutely delightful and we hope as many of you as possible get to experience, inspire and get inspired by her work!
