Ari Viitanen’s career has taken him from marine production to cargo systems, sales, customer solutions and entrepreneurship. Ari Viitanen began his maritime career at Aker Yards, working as a Production Engineer and later as a Production Manager, before moving into commercial and customer-focused roles at MacGregor and Cargotec.
In 2012, Ari Viitanen founded Carinafour to improve processes in complex project industries. Today, the company combines technology, logistics and production expertise to help ensure that materials are available at the right place and time. One example is CALS, Carinafour’s digital platform for managing material flows from design and supply chain through production and lifecycle management.

Throughout his career, he has led large-scale operations and transformation initiatives with a strong focus on performance, culture and people development.
Adecco also has long-standing experience supporting the maritime industry. Fintraffic helps keep Finland’s maritime traffic safe and moving by combining Vessel Traffic Services with eNavigation solutions and other digital maritime services that support information exchange and cooperation throughout the maritime logistics chain.

His career has progressed from frontline port operations at Port of Helsinki Ltd. through supervisory and specialist roles, including Resource Manager, Human Resources Specialist and Terminal Manager, into operational management. From 2019 to 2021, he served as Head of Operations at South Finland Port Service Ltd., which he now leads as CEO.
