Thank you Westpac Fiji for partnering with us looking forward to more engagement in reaching our communities π
The strongest communities are built when we invest in the next generation.
Recently, Westpac Fiji's Community and Engagement Manager, Keni, travelled to Kadavu to deliver a financial literacy session that brought together more than 200 senior students from three schools across the island.
Hosted at Vunisea Secondary School, the session formed part of the Scripture Union in Schools Kadavu Rally Programme, organised by dedicated volunteers, leaders and teachers from the local community.
Students travelled from across the island to attend. Some made the 30-minute trip by local transport from Richmond Methodist High School, while others journeyed by boat from Kadavu Provincial Secondary School.
Together, they came with a shared goal: to learn how simple financial habits can help shape their futures.
During the session, students explored why money matters, the importance of saving regularly, creating a budget, and connecting their dreams and goals to practical everyday habits.
As students shared their reflections, many spoke about the goals they hoped to achieve and the habits they wanted to start practising immediately - whether that was saving a little each week, planning ahead, budgeting more carefully, or setting clearer goals for their future.
For Keni, hearing those conversations was a reminder that financial literacy is about more than money. It's about helping young people build confidence, make informed decisions and believe in what's possible.
When young people are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to make better financial decisions, the impact extends beyond the classroom. It reaches families, schools and communities.
That's how stronger communities are built. And we're here for them.

Visit to Koro Is High School
We were blessed to meet with the Principal and Assistant Principal of Koro Is High School. During our visit, we officially handed over sports equipment to support the school's sports programme. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the school in encouraging and supporting its students, and we look forward to continuing this positive relationship.
This visit reflects our shared commitment to investing in the holistic development of young people through education, sports, and Christian values. We thank the school leadership for their warm hospitality and look forward to more opportunities to serve together.
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." β Epistle to the Galatians 6:9
May God continue to bless the leadership, staff, and students of Koro Is High School as we work together to make a positive impact in the lives of young people.

Last Saturday, the Scripture Union Fiji Eastern Division was blessed to host the Koro SUIS Sports Rally with the students of Koro Is High School. The rally was centred on the theme "Arise, Shine β This Is Your Time," based on Isaiah 60:1β3,encouraging students to rise in faith, let God's light shine through them and live out His purpose in their lives.
The day began with an energetic aerobics session, creating an atmosphere of excitement and unity. Students were then divided into groups for experiential games, where they participated in activities designed to build teamwork, communication, leadership, and trust.
Following the group activities, students moved into sports drills and skills training in rugby, netball, volleyball, and soccer. After practising the fundamental skills, the students played their respective sports, giving them the opportunity to apply what they had learned during the drills in a game setting. This allowed them to put their new skills into practice while demonstrating teamwork, discipline, and good sportsmanship.
The rally concluded with Bible Discovery Questions (BDQ), where students reflected on Isaiah 60:1β3 and discussed how the Scripture applied to their lives and the day's activities. The session was then brought together with a summary and encouragement from Pastor Josh, who challenged the students to arise, shine, and live boldly for Christ in their schools, homes, and communities.
The rally provided a meaningful opportunity for students to strengthen friendships, grow in confidence, develop their sporting skills, and be encouraged both physically and spiritually. We thank God for His guidance throughout the day and for the dedication of the volunteers, teachers, and students who made the event a success.
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you." Isaiah 60:1π©΅π
