Opening a business in Suva is not as easy as it may look from the outside. This is a direct post to this Indian Kiosk specifically. Always bulling us and saying stupid and annoying stuff and Always i mean Always wanting to compete with us even though we just opened.

Before you even begin, you need to build a customer base, understand what people want, and carefully work out what you need to buy, what you already have, and what is still missing. It takes money, patience, planning, and a lot of courage to start something from nothing.

What can make the journey even more difficult is facing negativity from businesses that have already been established for many years. Some businesses have been operating for 15 or even 20 years, yet when a new business opens nearby, they may see it as a threat rather than simply another person trying to make an honest living.

Hearing comments such as, “Close down, there is no use opening here,” or being told that you cannot not compete can be very discouraging and frustrating even though we werent competeing Everyone deserves a fair opportunity to work hard, serve customers, and build their own business.

Competition should not be about putting someone else down. A healthy business environment should encourage everyone to improve their service, respect one another, and allow customers to choose where they want to spend their money.
