A few days ago, the whole Schmidt family gathered in Arles to celebrate the release of the seventh release of the CAN LIVE series.

For the very first time since 1975, Irmin Schmidt comes back to the Théâtre Antique d’Arles, France, where CAN played 50 years ago with the band’s core line-up including Jaki Liebezeit, Michael Karoli, Holger Czukay and Irmin himself.
In this new interview, Irmin revisits the venue and shares his memories of that remarkable night, the atmosphere in Arles and a performance that had never previously been released on record.

The year was 1975, at the Théâtre Antique in Arles, France: Nico, Kevin Ayers, Ash Ra Tempel and CAN in their original line-up took turns on stage for an unforgettable night. ⚡
51 years later, CAN’s live recording will be released for the very first time by Mute Records on 26 September. 🎶
