The launch of the campaign on October 6 is getting closer and closer! In our latest ARCTICA reveal, we’re showing you more about the components and the differences between the Standard and Collector editions.
The Collector edition will have deluxified versions of most components! Plus, extra gameplay (that can also be purchased separately for the Standard edition).

⚙️ ARCTICA – Reveal #13: Production with Panda & Environmental Commitment 🐼

We’re super proud to be working once again with Panda Game Manufacturing — an FSC-certified factory and one of the leading board game manufacturers committed to reducing its environmental impact. With ARCTICA, a game inspired by Arctic wildlife and its fragile ecosystem, we knew we wanted to go further when it came to sustainability.

Take a look behind the scenes of ARCTICA’s production with Panda Game Manufacturing and discover some of the choices we’ve made to reduce the game’s environmental impact: FSC-certified materials, molded pulp instead of plastic for the inserts and board bases, paper packaging, wooden components, and more 🌍

But our commitment doesn’t stop with production! We’re also revealing a special ARCTICA Postcard Set, with 90% of the proceeds going toward protecting polar bears, as well as our upcoming membership in 1% for the Planet. 🐻‍❄️💙

And one more important announcement: ARCTICA will officially launch on Gamefound on October 6th! 🐋

U.S. Customs has finally released our shipment of games! 🇺🇸
After more than 20 days of being held at customs, this is news we are absolutely THRILLED to finally share with you! The fulfillment of I·C·E is now entering its final stages! 🥳

We also have some good news for our First Edition backers who ordered the Conversion Kit: as promised, we now have an insert solution for you! 🤟
Designed by Pablo Royo, this 3D insert can accommodate several configurations, including for backers who also picked up the Collector Guild boards (RELICS support is also coming soon). And since the Standard and Collector boxes are exactly the same size, these files will work for all First Edition backers.

A quick heads-up: ARCTICA will be available for everyone to play until the end of the Gamefound campaign. Once the campaign ends, only backers will be able to keep playing until next year, when ARCTICA hits retail 😉

This is a huge project that we’ve been working on for a long time with Emmanuel Albisser, our incredible BGA developer, to give you the opportunity to experience ARCTICA online. Check out the full update to learn more about this journey! 🤟

We wanted ARCTICA’s Solo Mode to feel just as exciting as a multiplayer game, with as little “upkeep” as possible — while keeping all the tension of a regular game. In fact, the Solo Mode brings its own unique kind of tension: the Automa’s Wheel sits above your own Generation Board. This means that every time you advance the tokens on your Wheels, you’re also advancing the Automa’s... 🤯

⚙️ ARCTICA – Reveal #10: ARCTICA's Gameplay – The Art of Balancing 🦑

Lots of announcements in our latest update, but let's start with a look behind the scenes at one important aspect of ARCTICA's gameplay: card balancing!
The Collector's Edition of ARCTICA will feature 160 unique Fauna cards, each with different iconography and effects. Balancing THAT many cards is quite a challenge! It has taken us over a year of complex spreadsheets, playtesting, tweaking, re-testing... and doing it all over again. 😅 Discover more about the work that goes into balancing ARCTICA's cards in our latest update! 🤟

We're also sharing some highlights from our time at Gen Con in Indianapolis, along with the location of our booth for our next convention: SPIEL Essen – Hall 3, Booth 3J300!
