Laying and connecting underground pipelines remains one of the toughest challenges in the industry. Our customers are regularly called upon to weld pipelines on site for the transport of a wide variety of media, from natural gas, oil up to hydrogen.

At Polysoude, our MU IV welding heads are designed to handle exactly these applications, with reliability and precision on every diameter.

A concrete example here: a carbon steel pipe Ø88.9x5.5mm, welded in 3 layers with our MU IV 115 welding head (28 to 115mm OD, AVC/OSC, cold wire), for a total welding time of approximately 15 minutes.

From the compact MU IV 8/38 open welding head (8 to 38mm OD) with arc voltage control (AVC) and oscillation of the tungsten (OSC) available up to 275mm OD, to the MU IV with Hot Wire (HW) for 25 to 219mm OD pipes, our range covers the full spectrum of on-site pipeline welding needs.

As part of a specific project, our client required a distance of total 25 meters cable bundle between the operating area, power source and workpiece, welding head placed in a confined space. Thus, the TS 34 orbital welding head with extra-long extension gives operators the flexibility to access hard-to-reach welding zones while keeping the power source at a safe and practical distance.
