Yesterday we had our first “Third Thursdays” men’s gathering 😎

This is a time for men from our Family of Churches, both EIC Rive Gauche & EIC Rueil Malmaison, to join together in La Défense for fellowship and discussion. This Thursday we talked about the idea of Sabbath taking. Often, men are always going, working, and not having a true day of rest. Yet Sabbath is an opportunity to do so, trusting that God works and accomplishes more than we ever can ! We shared openly and encouraged each other to take a real day off !

We’ll meet up again next month, Thursday October 15th, 6-8pm. More details to come. Look forward to this group growing together !

This past week, we started back the group that helped form the life of this church : Big Questions & Great Debates !

We began on a specific question pertinent to both Parisians and all over the world : do certain religions lead to the same place ? We led off with Islam, Judaism, Catholicism, and Protestantism. BQGD is a group for skeptics, seekers, nones, and those outside the Christian faith. Yet many Christians do attend. We aim to learn how we can openly talk and even kindly debate about big questions of life, that really everyone asks or considers.

This group started a year before we launched our Sunday services, as the large aim of our church is relational evangelism and apologetics. We’d love you to join us and hear what you think ! 7pm each Tuesday evening at Le Denfert Café in Paris 🙌

We had a great first Sunday back as we move into this Rentrée season 🥳

We are back to regular worship at Le Denfert Café on Sunday afternoons. Last week we sent off some dear friends who’d been with us for a year or so, met some new ones, and went out afterwards as we often do to celebrate. Our weekly groups start back too, so we’d love to see you and connect with you this weekend.

ON EST DE RETOUR ! 🥳

EIC Rive Gauche is glad to be back for regular worship at Le Denfert Café this Sunday, August 30th, at 3.30pm ! We begin this Rentrée season with a new Vision series : “Churches for the City.” In it, we’ll focus on being a church for the flourishing of this city of lights, while supporting other churches for the Gospel and Kingdom here where God has placed us.

We look forward to gathering together again and would love to see you if you are visiting or seeking a community of Christ.

Since Denfert Café is on summer break, our regular RG services will pick up again on 30 August ! 😎☀️

These next Sundays we invite you to worship at our sister church, EIC Rueil Malmaison, with service at 10h30. All info on our family of churches’s website : eicparis.org

Very thankful for all the learnings from our Tuesday and Thursday night events this whole (school) year !

We were able to kindly debate on a lot of pressing issues at Big Questions Great Debates. It all made for good practice in articulating the Christian point of view with compassion and openness.

Hopefully we all got wiser (😉) from our last Read the Bible for Yourself series. Ecclesiastes and Proverbs spoke on divine wisdom and how we are all in need of it.

We are taking a break over August, and we look forward to even more robust BQGD and RBFY events at the rentrée ! 🙌

We are glad to see God’s varied grace so visible in the local church ! These past weeks we’ve had different people helping out to coordinate Sunday services, play music, teach, do announcements, clean up, etc. Everyone using their gifts and capacities for kingdom good. We rejoice in that !

Church (and church planting especially) always takes a village. We are thankful for Rive Gauche, and the EIC family of churches ❤️

Church is community, God’s gathered community. In a city like Paris where it’s easy to feel lonely, we value cultivating friendships and helping our members have a sense of “my people”. We belong because we are all adopted into one Family !

Our fellowship groups have contributed a lot to this. It’s an easy on-ramp to get to know others in the church, over a meal and in somebody’s home. Many thanks to our kind hosts, for their hospitality this whole year ❤️

Tomorrow we are starting our new summer series shared at both EIC Rive Gauche & EIC Rueil !

We’ll be teaching on “Greater Things to Come, the Hope Set Before Us”. The theme is just that : in Christ, there are always greater things ahead. We are all made to have hope, and we have a real and living hope in Him.

Please join us as we look at our future and present hope this summer. 3:30pm at Le Denfert Café up through July 26th. We hope to see you !
