CE QUI RESTE —

It was the last day of Aya Mansour’s residency at the Cité internationale de la langue française, where she had the opportunity to spend two months in a literary residency dedicated to completing her essay on the resilience of Iraqi women and their experiences of witnessing conflict.
Erth Iraq is deeply grateful for this collaboration and would like to sincerely thank the members and staff of the Cité internationale de la langue française for their support, encouragement, and hospitality throughout this enriching experience.
At Erth Iraq, we are committed to supporting Iraqi creators across the cultural field and helping preserve Iraq’s rich cultural heritage. We believe that peace, strength, and hope can emerge from a cultural renaissance.

Erth Iraq is proud to announce its first project supporting a literary residency, in partnership with the Cité internationale de la langue française in Villers-Cotterêts.
We are honored to collaborate with Iraqi writer and investigative journalist Aya Mansour, whose participation marks an important milestone for Erth Iraq. As the first initiative of its kind dedicated to supporting an Iraqi author, this residency reflects our commitment to nurturing Iraq's cultural landscape and amplifying the voices that shape its history.
In this interview, Aya Mansour presents her project, Women of the Long River, an ambitious initiative to preserve the oral histories of Iraqi women from 1980 to 2010.
Through the testimonies of more than 200 women, the project seeks to tell the story of decades of conflict in Iraq through their unfiltered perspectives—capturing not only events, but also the emotions, memories, and lived experiences that too often remain unheard.

A powerful read—highly recommended.
Behind the looting, a global system.
In our interview with , we revisit Mémoire sous scellés and the international networks behind cultural trafficking—and the erasure of memory it fuels.
Because history doesn’t disappear on its own.
