Here are photos shared by Pauline , Antoine Moittié and BEYOND THE STREETS of Kenny Scharf’s works featured in ‘BEYOND THE STREETS’ at La Villette in Paris,France. A true immersion into the world of graffiti, street art, and contemporary urban culture, the exhibition transforms the venue into a series of spectacular settings, reminiscent of life-sized movie sets. It is open until August 30, 2026, make sure to visit if you are in the French capital this summer!

Kenny Scharf (b. 1958, United States) is a renowned artist affiliated with the 1980’s East Village Art movement in New York. Scharf developed a distinct and uniquely personal artistic style in paintings as well as sculpture, alongside his mentor Andy Warhol, and contemporaries like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring with whom he pioneered contemporary street art. References to popular culture reoccur throughout his works, such as appropriated cartoon characters from the Flintstones and Jetsons, as well as imagined anthropomorphic creatures.

Happy birthday to George Rouy (GEORGE ROUY)! On the occasion, we look back at his most recent exhibition with the gallery, ’SHADOWING’, at the Château de Boisgeloup, Gisors in France last year! We spotlight three works that were exhibited: ‘Afterimage’, 2025, ‘DESIRELINE I’, 2025 and ‘DESIRELINE II’, 2025. We then turn to the artist’s very first show with Almine Rech in Paris back in 2022!

These are the last days to visit ‘Calder. Rêver en équilibre’ at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, France before it closes on August 16, 2026! The exhibition spans half a century of creation, from the late 1920s and the first staging of the artist’s Cirque Calder performances that captivated the Parisian avant-garde, to the monumental sculptures that redefined public art in the 1960s and 1970s.

One of the most important exhibitions ever dedicated to Alexander Calder, “Calder. Rêver en Equilibre” has been conceived in close collaboration with the Calder Foundation, its principal lender. The display also features loans from international institutions and leading private collectors, bringing together nearly 300 works: stabiles and mobiles – to use the Calderian terminology for static and kinetic abstractions – as well as wire portraits, carved wooden figures, paintings, drawings, and even jewelry, designed as unique sculptures. Throughout the chronological journey spanning more than 3,000 m2, the exhibition will highlight Calder’s fundamental artistic concerns: movement above all, but also light, reflection, humble materials, sound, the ephemeral, gravity, performance, and the interplay of positive and negative space.

The exhibition is curated by Suzanne Pagé, Artistic Director of the Fondation Louis Vuitton (Chief Curator), Dieter Buchhart and Anna Karina Hofbauer, (guest curators), assisted by Valentin Neuroth and Claire Deuticke, Olivier Michelon, (associate curator) and assisted by Léna Levy. This exhibition was made possible thanks to a partnership with the Calder Foundation and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

He has been working as an artist since the 1970s; a member of the influential Pictures Generation, he worked alongside other artists to expand the scope of conceptual photography through the use of appropriation and rephotography. Discover our selected highlights below to celebrate together!

In selecting or regroupings images, whether they be rephotographs of advertisements or forged publicity photographs, extracting them from their source, Prince elevates them to the status of fine art. As Robert Rubin writes “He appropriates an era and makes something that resonates differently for different people. The beauty of Richard Prince’s art is that it doesn’t have limits.”

Almine Rech congratulates Joël Andrianomearisoa, whose proposal has been selected among those presented for the High Line Plinth in New York.

Inaugurated in June 2019, the Plinth is the first space on the High Line—and one of the only sites in New York City—dedicated solely to a rotating series of new, monumental, contemporary art commissions, presented for eighteen months at a time on the Spur, above 30th Street and 10th Avenue, and inspired by the Fourth Plinth in London’s Trafalgar Square. Andrianomearisoa is among the sixty-two artists whose proposals for the seventh and eighth commissions, to be installed in 2029 and 2030, are now open to public comment, which will be shared with High Line Art’s curatorial team to help inform the selection of finalists.

For his proposal, SENTIMENTAL GARDEN, Andrianomearisoa conceives a monument that proposes emotion as a shared language and a site of collective meaning. Developed through a participatory process inviting people to name their favorite flower, each response is translated into a sculptural form and assembled into a single installation. Crafted in aluminum, the work holds fragility and permanence in balance, forming a collective portrait shaped by sentiment, memory, and exchange.

Almine Rech congratulates Ali Cherri, whose work has been put forward for the High Line Plinth in New York.

Situated on the Spur, above 30th Street and 10th Avenue, and modeled on London’s Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, the Plinth has since 2019 been the High Line’s dedicated stage for large-scale contemporary commissions, each unveiled for an eighteen-month run. Cherri now figures among the sixty-two artists invited to imagine the seventh and eighth commissions, destined for 2029 and 2030, with the proposals opened to public comment ahead of High Line Art’s shortlist.

For his proposal, Apples in a White Bowl, Cherri transforms the familiar still-life motif into a monumental sculpture: a large white cement bowl holding disproportionately sized bronze apples in an advanced state of decay, at once a meditation on time and impermanence and a play on New York’s identity as the “Big Apple.”

Almine Rech is pleased to announce that on September 18, 2026, the Guggenheim New York will present Taryn Simon’s ‘Father Country I Do Love You’, a major exhibition premiering a new body of work by artist Taryn Simon (b. 1975, New York).

On view during the 250th anniversary of the United States, this presentation will bring together never-before-seen photographs, text, videos, and sculptures into a singular, interactive installation filling the entire rotunda. It will mark the first monographic exhibition by a photography-based artist in the rotunda and the largest debut of new work ever staged at the Guggenheim.

Nearly a decade in the making, ‘Father Country I Do Love You’ (2026) traces the real life of one unnamed federal agent through 42 individual artworks. The immense project is a labyrinth of sagas in which Simon uncovers the ripple effects of her protagonist’s actions and inactions. Through duty, devotion, loss, and happenstance, the federal agent acted as a middleman, witnessing events great and small and collecting evidence for someone else to slot into the bigger picture. Everything he touched ricocheted to the outer boundaries of nations and lives he’d never know.

This exhibition serves as a turning point in Simon’s career, integrating personal stories into her practice for the first time. ‘Father Country I Do Love You’ is dedicated to Simon’s father, whose life shadows the entire project.

The exhibition is organized by Nat Trotman, Curator, Performance and Media. The exhibition was initiated by Nancy Spector, former Artistic Director and Jennifer and David Stockman Chief Curator.
