Over the past few days, we have noticed some issues displaying images hosted on external services, particularly Goopics and Postimages.

Images hosted on Goopics, in particular, were either not displaying at all or were taking an unreasonable amount of time to load, which could slow down some forums. The team therefore had to intervene to display the “broken” images directly, in order to prevent pages from getting stuck loading.

As for images hosted via Postimages, there also appear to be some issues.

Our advice for this weekend: if you find that your pages are taking an unusually long time to load, first check whether the problem might be caused by external resources, particularly images hosted on free services.
