Born within the universe of CANTICO, where Southern Italian ritual memory meets electronic sound, image and contemporary dress, Asimi explores what happens when conflict is given a body.

At its core is the logic of the time Taranta: transformation does not come from simply expelling what possesses you. One must enter into relation with it: embody its movement, dance with it, negotiate its rhythm and eventually impose one’s own.

Filmed inside a former tannery in Salento, two bodies meet through contact, resistance and guided improvisation. References to tarantism and combative traditions of the region intersect without attempting to reconstruct them, allowing inherited gestures to collide with animal impulse, fashion and contemporary sound.

The double first appears as something external, something to confront. Yet transformation does not come from defeating it. It comes from recognising it, embodying it, negotiating with it.

The ritual does not suppress the impulse. It gives it a body, a rhythm and a form.

CANTICO è il debut album di Yoniro, in uscita il 20 marzo 2026: un progetto di ricerca elettronica che prende forma a partire dall’universo della Taranta, trasformandone pratiche e matrici in una scrittura sonora immersiva.
Ideato da un team salentino, il lavoro si muove tra gesto, memoria e paesaggio culturale, aprendo un dialogo tra eredità mediterranea e sensibilità del presente.
Il disco attraversa stati di trance e processi di metamorfosi, intrecciando corporeità, frequenze e ambienti digitali, e riaffermando la musica come spazio di riequilibrio e relazione condivisa.
Nel live, questa traiettoria diventa esperienza d’ascolto espansa: un campo comune in cui presenze e vibrazioni si incontrano, facendo emergere un nucleo archetipico che prende forma in una dinamica sonora attuale.
