About Arif Rana
Ariful Islam (Arif Rana) is a versatile artist,an eminent singer, songwriter,musician and music composer whose music transcends the flair of blues,latin,rock…with soulful Bangla Lyrics. Migration music results in the creation of new musical hybrids, styles and genres and Arif Rana is living proof of this. At the same time, a western lifestyle and exposure to Parisian culture put the East-meets -West blend in him so when he restarted his music career there…He started collaborating with musicians from multitudes of cultures – hence giving birth to a new world-beat,he adds a bengali perspective to his collaborations. United, their work soon became a cocktail of French,Spanish,Portuguese, Algerian, Tunisian, Moroccan,African, traditional European and Bangla folk – using varieties of instruments such as Dotara, Ektara,Khamak,Guitar, Oud, Morchung, Darbuka and Saxophone. Rana has composed few songs for some bangladeshi films (Porobashinee, Bangladesh-the birth of a flag…) & french film-( « de l’usage du se**oy en temp de crise »…)

He has performed in prestigious venues like Unesco,Zenith de Paris,Palais des Congrès Paris-Est, ……Oslo-Norway,Maison de la culture Mouloud Mammeri-Tizi-ouzou, Algérie.He has also participated and represented Bangladesh in several International festivals. His previous albums are « Bishonno ebong Eka » (Label- Commitment production-1995), « Rong kora Putul » ( Label - Bengal music-2010 ), « Bhabona » ( Label - Agniveena/G-series-2016)
