What does the road sector really look like when it goes digital?
PIARC, together with UCL, UCL Consultants, the University of Birmingham and AtkinsRéalis, is building the first international picture of how road organisations are using digital twins and digital representations of their assets, networks and operations. This project benefits from financing from FHWA, USA, Rijkswaterstaat, the Netherlands, Canada-Québec, Asfinag, Austria & the United Kingdom.
Your organisation doesn’t need to have a fully operational digital twin. Pilots, planned projects, paused initiatives and early-stage approaches all count. Road and asset management systems, condition monitoring and BIM-based approaches are also of interest.
Got an example? Share it in around 15 minutes.
The call for evidence is open until 7 October 2026. Contributors will be acknowledged in the study and receive the findings before publication.
