Eclipse day! ☀️

🌍Today's total solar eclipse is visible from Greenland, Iceland, northeastern Portugal and Spain. Most of the rest of Europe, northern North America and western Africa will witness a partial solar eclipse.

🤔What is a total solar eclipse?

During a total solar eclipse, the Moon passes directly between the Sun and Earth. The Moon blocks light from the Sun and casts a shadow on Earth.

A total solar eclipse is visible from within the region of full shadow behind the Moon, called the ‘umbra’. A partial eclipse is visible from regions on Earth within the area called the ‘penumbra’.
