Professor Jacques Marescaux honored at the SRS Annual Congress

During the Awards Gala Dinner of the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS) Annual Congress, Professor Jacques Marescaux was presented with the "Edson Bueno Healthcare Humanitarian and Visionary" Award. This recognition from the global robotic surgery community is also a tribute to the entire IRCAD team, which has been working for more than 30 years to democratize minimally invasive surgery around the world.

IRCAD was especially proud to see another distinction awarded to the IRCAD Family, with the "SRS Surgical Education Visionary and Humanitarian" Award presented to Mr. Henrique Prata. A true medical entrepreneur, he built in Barretos one of the leading cancer hospitals in Latin America, providing free treatment to the most underprivileged patients in Brazil.

There is no doubt that these awards were truly well deserved. Congratulations!

Operation Lindbergh takes center stage at SRS Annual Congress

Telesurgery was the defining topic at this year’s Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS) Annual Congress in Miami. Over 25 years after Operation Lindbergh made history as the world’s first transatlantic telesurgery, its legacy anchored keynotes and panels throughout the four-day event, highlighting how remote care can drive healthcare equity in emerging nations. A proud milestone moment for IRCAD and Prof. Jacques Marescaux!

The IRCAD booth highlighted our global network, uniting teams worldwide to advance education, research, and innovation in robotic surgery.

Congratulations to Congress President Dr. Eduardo Parra Davila, SRS Executive Director Dr. Vipul Patel, and the organizing team for an outstanding event!

🎙️ Interview of the Month: Professor Jacques Marescaux
🔎 https://irc.ad/Cfgj

Professor Jacques Marescaux discusses how AI, robotic surgery, and telesurgery are profoundly transforming healthcare. He reflects on how these major technological breakthroughs are driving ultra-early diagnosis, minimally invasive natural or***ce procedures, and highly precise 3D-guided tumor treatments.

He highlights how IRCAD's international network and industrial partnerships are crucial to scaling these "useful" innovations globally. For Professor Marescaux, the ultimate responsibility lies in acting as an "excubator", rapidly turning complex ideas into operational, life-changing solutions for patients worldwide.
