Crowcon Detection Instruments

𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱.
Updated recommendations from the International Maritime Organization (IMO), effective 3rd December 2025, place greater emphasis on carbon dioxide (CO₂) as a critical atmospheric hazard during enclosed space entry.

Why does this matter?
Many standard 4-gas detectors monitor oxygen, flammable gases and common toxic gases, but don't detect CO₂. Without CO₂ monitoring, crews may be making entry decisions without a complete picture of the atmosphere. CO₂ can build up unnoticed in cargo holds, ballast tanks, void spaces and connected compartments, creating a significant risk for personnel entering these areas.
