MENS WEST 1 SEASON: 33% COMPLETE

With the first 3rd of the West 1 season complete, it's looking like a relegation battle is on the cards for the lads (who are on a well-deserved break this weekend)

As always, I try and work out the potential relegation scenarios as the number of teams going down from West 1 come season's end depends on the teams being relegated from National 4

Below is my summary of the state of play

THE 4 POSSIBLE SCENARIOS BASED ON THE COMPETITION RULES

A) 0 West Teams relegated from National 4 = 1 Team relegated from West 1
B) 1 West Team relegated from National 4 = 2 Teams relegated from West 1
C) 2 West Teams relegated from National 4 = 2 Teams relegated from West 1
D) 3 West Teams relegated from National 4 = 3 Teams relegated from West 1

Based on the current situation in National 4, it's looking like scenario C is the most likely (70% chance), followed by B (20% chance)

Which means 2 teams will be relegated from West 1 come season's end

Scenario A is very unlikely (

Great photos as always from Katie Morrison Photography of the Warriors match yesterday

Cheers as always Katie!

MATCHES THIS WEEKEND

A bit quieter this weekend, with only 2 teams in action.

On Saturday, the 2nd XV welcome Wigton 2nd XV to Violetbank for some much-needed match time.

While on Sunday, the Warriors are off to Lenzie, aiming to get back on track after Sunday's disappointing loss.

Go well all

TRUSTEE RETRIAL AND ELECTION
As this is the first AGM of the SCIO, the constitution provides that one third (to the nearest whole number) of the charity trustees will retire from office.

With five trustees currently in office, two trustees will retire at the AGM. The constitution provides that the trustees to retire at the first AGM will be determined by a random method.

Those trustees will be eligible for re-election, and members will also have the opportunity to nominate eligible members for election as charity trustees, subject to the provisions of the constitution.

Members wishing to propose a candidate for election as a charity trustee are asked to provide the details to the Secretary at the email address below, prior to the AGM, in accordance with the constitution.

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM and to discussing the progress and future plans of the SCIO.

The old clubhouse looking a bit different these days!

Good luck with the venture and new lease of life for 17 Bank Street Adam.

Open sometime in November I believe. Get following The Oche Sports Bar for future updates

! :)

It’s starting to look a LOT different behind the scenes… 👀 🔨

The booths are gone, the dance floor that seen many (sometimes questionable) dance moves is gone and what started as “The RC” is slowly turning into The Oche — and we’re getting closer to bringing our vision to life! 🍻🎯

There’s still plenty of work to do, but the boys are working hard and you can finally start to imagine what this place is going to look like when the tools are gone, the lights are on and the doors are open. 🙌

U6-U12 TIGERS: STAR PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Hope everyone had a great time this morning up at Violetbank

The star players this week are the impressive Ivy, Elli, Alfie, Eddie, Harper, Jace, Robbie and Frazer

Well done to all.

The mighty U6-U12 Tigers are back training next Sunday. 10am to 11am up at Violetbank, DG12 5NY

New players always welcome.

BAD DAY ON THE ROAD

To keep it short and sweet, the Warriors had a bad day at the office at Bishopton as the home side ran out convincing winners.

After the great win against Hillhead last time out, hopes were high of perhaps getting that 2nd win of the season, but it was not to be, as the Warriors could not get any momentum going, with the penalty count and decisions going firmly against the Warriors whenever they seemed to.

Final Score: Bishopton Ladies 29 v Annan Warriors 5

The Warriors' points were thanks to a Jane Haren try (who else!) as the match entered the final few minutes

Congratulations to Bishopton Ladies on their win, and we look forward to your visit to Violetbank in the new year.

Onto the next one Warriors, which is next Sunday away to Lenzie.

U14 Boys ready to kick off at Newton Stewart

Good luck lads.

Edit: Played 2, won 1 lost 1. Well played lads
