This unusual shipment was a lifting machine, which began its journey in Brescello, Italy, and travelled all the way North, via our Manchester Warehouse, to its final destination in Banchory, Scotland.
A specialist piece of equipment, a long-distance journey, and another interesting load successfully delivered.

Industry Insights - Q3 Round Up and What to Expect in Q4
The UK logistics sector has entered Q3 with improving economic momentum, although freight activity remains mixed across sectors. UK GDP increased by 0.4% in July, exceeding expectations and following 0.3% growth in June, with services providing the principal contribution. This indicates a more resilient underlying economy and should support gradual improvement in business-to-business freight demand.
UK trade activity also remains an important positive indicator. The wider improvement in economic activity, combined with continued international trading activity, is supporting demand for road, sea and air freight, although volumes remain sensitive to manufacturing output, consumer demand and inventory levels. Retail growth has subsequently moderated, with August sales growth falling to 0.7% year-on-year, suggesting that consumer-led freight demand may remain uneven.
The outlook for Q4 is cautiously positive, with improving economic activity expected to translate into modest freight-volume growth. The traditional pre-Christmas peak should provide additional support to road freight, warehousing, parcel and international distribution activity. However, elevated operating costs and potential energy-price increases are likely to limit margin improvement.
Overall, Q4 is expected to deliver moderate volume growth rather than a significant market rebound, with businesses possessing strong customs capability, operational efficiency and diversified customer bases best positioned to outperform the wider sector.

London Fashion Week is coming up, but what does that mean for freight?
Behind the shows are time-critical shipments of samples, garments, accessories and event equipment, often moving internationally and arriving against fixed deadlines.
For freight, that means managing customs, tight delivery windows, high-value goods and last-minute changes, with very little margin for error.
Fashion is a great example of how important timing and flexibility are in logistics.
