Bas-Arts-Index

Bas Arts Index is on the hunt for a Treasurer Director.

We’ve had 2.5 years now of being a fully grown up CIC, these days we’re learning, planning and thinking about the future.

We would like to invite expressions of interest from future Treasurer / Directors who can join us on this path.

Who we are looking for? People who:

🪐 believe in the power of art, culture, creativity and community, and recognise how important it is to keep it alive in the town

🪐 have a background in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or been a treasurer for a non-profit before, or able to support the organisation with specialist financial knowledge

🪐 open to learning together, and sharing new ways to develop the organisation towards a financially sustainable future

It’s an exciting time for Bas Arts Index, and we’ve never been stronger. The role is currently voluntary, but we’re open to the possibility of Directors being paid if we can find the right pot of gold.

DON'T FORGET THE NEW LOCATION FOR THE PICNIC

Jointly organised by Gloucester Park Community Group - Basildon (Public) and Bas Arts Index CIC, this free community picnic brings residents together through shared food, creativity, music, wellbeing and community connection.

This is a relaxed, family-friendly gathering bringing residents together through shared food, creativity, music, wellbeing and community connection. There will be arts activities, space for children and families, and some home-cooked community food tasters.

For us, creativity is not only painting or performance, it can also be cooking, gardening, making, sharing stories, caring for the park, and bringing people together. These picnics are about celebrating the everyday creativity that already exists in our community.

What we have in store for 12th September:

Arts and crafts with Maxine Newell

Tai Chi with Gary Mathews of Jintou Martial arts

Upbeat playlist from Nate the Vibe Dictator

Food tasters from around the world, including drinks and tea from Maks Desi Delights

Everyone is welcome. Bring a picnic blanket, your own snacks or lunch if you’d like, and come spend time with neighbours in a welcoming outdoor space.

Join us for the last picnic for the Summer and hear about plans for the Autumn.
