Please join us at the Irish Arts Centerfor In the Round, a new exhibition drawing from a wider trajectory of our work developed over the past several years.

The exhibition builds on projects including the Turner Prize-winning The Druthaib’s Ball; An Dún, created for the Irish IMMA - Irish Museum of Modern Art 2023–2024 Self-Determination: A Global Perspective; and The Goose and the Common, commissioned by Rua Red

In the Round opens on Friday, September 18, followed by a one-day symposium featuring three events on Saturday, September 19:

1:30pm / Under Seaveillance Fabric Printing Workshop

4pm / Cathartic Choruses: Strategies of Resistance and Resilience in Art Practice, an interactive panel with members of Array and invited artists Pablo Helguera and Leigh Davis

7:30pm / Under Seaveillance Protest Karaoke, with guest performer Viva Ruiz viva_lalaruiz /

Open Call for Artists!

We’re now inviting applications from mid-career to established artists for an upcoming studio space at Rua Red.

Our studios offer affordable, dedicated workspaces for visual artists, with licences running from one to three years depending on needs and availability. The studio is Rua Red's largest studio, measuring approximately 7.5m x 8.7m with a monthly fee of €360.

Deadline to Apply: Monday 7th September 2026

• Concrete flooring
• Sink and storage
• Heating
• Natural light
• Wi Fi
• Access to a supportive artistic community

We welcome artists working across all visual arts disciplines.

If you care about the future of arts and culture, this is defo worth 15 minutes of your time.

The government is reviewing how National Lottery Good Causes funding is distributed, including the funding that supports arts and culture across the UK.

That makes this a real opportunity to say what matters.

What should public funding for the arts make possible? Who should be able to access it? Are grassroots artists and organisations getting the opportunities they need? What about work outside major institutions and cities, emerging artists, community arts, experimentation and the things that don't always fit neatly into a funding box?

If you work in the arts, make art, participate in it, or simply believe culture matters, your perspective belongs in this conversation.

The consultation takes around 15 to 20 minutes and closes at midday on 23 September.

We are VERY excited to announce after more than a year of renovations we are officially moved into our new studios in East Belfast! This was all made possible through the support of Belfast City Council and the scheme, and of course the blood sweat and tears of the collective and our friends and family! Before and afters, appreciation posts and future plans to follow! We can't wait to get you all in for a cuppa tea and a nosey!

Last week we hosted our ridiculously adorable Melter Defence League event for kiddos (and their grown ups!) as part of EastSide Arts Festival EastSide Arts , and what a glorious day it was!

We were delighted to partner with the wonderful Elaine AKA Anann's Arch as part of our series, funded by Arts Council of Northern Ireland

Together we made:

• Masks against melt
• Shields against sour vibes
• Snacks to sustain energy
• Cuffs to activate superpowers
• Capes to get us from A to B in record time
• A catwalk to strut our stuff
• And, of course, a disco to round off the day- naturally, because we believe that standing up for good causes and making positive change should always have a bit of craic involved.
